Get well Bob Uecker (1 Viewer)

In case you haven't noticed, and judging by the attendance you haven't, the Indians have managed to win a few here and there, and are threatening to climb out of the cellar.

Gonna be tough working outside this summer without listening to Uecker call the games. The guy has slipped a bit on his play-by-play ability, but he's still most enjoyable storyteller in the business.

Davey Nelson is going to be a trainwreck, mark my words. He seems like a nice guy, but he's more suited for TV and he's horrible at that.

One of the best parts of getting the XM baseball package is tuning the Ueck or a Vin Scully and taking a drive at night listening to some living history. Get well Ueck!

Wishing you well, Ueck.

I have many fond memories of going to and listening to Brewer games while in college. In fact, for about 20 years, I had two favorite baseball teams, the Reds and the Brewers. After all, one was in the National League, and one was in the American League.

I hated reallignment...watching the Brewers move into the same division as the Reds.

Artie Lange and Norm MacDonald tell some great Uecker stories. He's a funny guy.
:lmao: Letterman - Norm MacDonald's Bob Uecker Story

Letterman - Artie Lange and the Cough Button

Howard Stern- Norm MacDonald Interviewed May 2009 Pt.2

starts in part 1 at 6:00 but pretty much just first two links rehashed, not cleaned up for letterman. too bad the frank sinatra/don dysdrale story is left out. if i remember correctly bob got drysdale locked up in trunk of a car thinking he was going to die from the mob. then they opened up the trunk out on a desert highway and bob came out and laughed and said "the bag is on you."

warning- all stories not of a "family nature"

Agreed, but Corey Provis should assume Uke's role I would think, so Nelson should only have a few innings a game.

Not one Mr. Belvedere reference?

There was a recent picture of him in "Sports Illustrated" standing by a pool watching two Brewers play ping-pong while wearing nothing but a Speedo.

That image is scorched onto my retina (though I have to say he is in excellent shape).

They're announcing together, with Provus doing the play-by-play and Nelson as the color commentator. I was busy last night and only caught about 2 minutes of the radio broadcast, but Nelson sounded exactly like how I expected him to sound - stammering and unfocused, constantly talking about who he played with. I heard he did color in the past and was OK, but I'd have to hear it to believe it. I'll be listening on the drive back from the Bucks game tonight... I'm actually looking forward to it.
