Getting bumped from a flight 5 hrs prior? Does that Happen? (1 Viewer)

So I'm not a frequent flier at all,but I know many of you fly alot.  Does it happen often that you find out you were bumped from a flight 5 hrs ahead of time?  I was under the impression that happened much closer to your flight time. Like while you were waiting at the gate. But like I said I don't know squat about it

Probably means that they oversold the flight and lots of people checked in early. They were probably over booking more than usual with people opting out for covid and they are seeing an uptick in vaccinated people who can't wait to get out and go somewhere. The window for cheap flights and empty planes is closed
