Giants running back situation next season? (1 Viewer)

Best guess on how the starting running back situation in NY shakes out next season? Is it a foregone conclusion Bradshaw will get the nod over Brown? And how does Wilson figure in?

In the interest of full disclosure, I have Bradshaw as a 6th round pick in a keep-6 league and am willing to move him for just about anything right now.

Obviously a lot depends on what happens between now and the end of the year. If the knee turns out to be no big deal and Bradshaw remains (relatively) healthy for the rest of the year, he won't lose his position as starting HB, though I think our dreams of Bradshaw ever seeing 70% of the carries can rest in peace. If Bradshaw is gimpy or really hurt and Wilson comes in and shines, then I believe it is a full-blown RBBC for 2013. Andre Brown has at least carved out a short-yardage, goal-line situation for himself as well.

Best case scenario for Bradshaw is Wilson fumbles and/or looks pedestrian while Bradshaw remains productive. If this occurs, I believe the Giants have about a 60/20/20 split between Bradshaw/Brown/Wilson next year.

If Wilson plays well or Bradshaw can't go for the rest of the year, I think we are looking at a worst case scenario in 2013 of a 40/30/30 split between Wilson/Brown/Bradshaw. Bradshaw will still get third down work and some passing situations where Wilson screens and swing passes aren't in the game plan.

60% of the Giants ground game with smaller goal-line involvement may make a mediocre #2 RB in PPR. He's up to 1100/8 with three games to play, so if he can go a season of 1300/10 isn't outside the realm of possibility, but this probably represents his upside in 2013.

If Brandon Jacobs gets his wish, he will be in the mix. The 9ers just suspended him for the rest of the year, and Jacobs says the only team he's willing to play for is the Giants.

Pretty sure that will be a polite no thank you.Except for one year, the G-men in the post Tiki era have been a RBBC. Both could end up being very effective and solid RB2s in PPR.

Hard to imagine Wilson looking pedestrian. Guy is a beast. But I could see him being the yardage king while Bradshaw gets his share via receptions and GL carries.

They aren't in the habit of taking back FA that leave and it's not like Boss or Steve Smith are worse than some of the guys on the roster. They might take him back if he'd be willing to sign cheap. If Bradshaw doesn't lose the starting job this season, then he'll probably start with it next year in camp. But it will probably be a competition. I think Brown drops to third and possibly the goal-line back.
