Angry Bovine
14 team, 7 keeper, points based auction yesterday with a very thin pool other than Gordon and Dice-K. I had Shealy last year, and liked him. Encarncion has a lot of power potential in a good lineup and park, and I think he's 23. Wood has been touted as one of the top prospects the last few years, not sure if he'll play SS or 3B in the majors.

With such a deep keeper league, can any of these guys progress to keeper level this year? I kept Vlad, Zambrano, Sheets, Ichiro, Myers, Dunn, and Delgado. I also had to let go of Haren, Furcal, Rolen, and Saito, I finished in the money last year. Myers and Haren were a tossup for me, I went with the NL and better team over the better pitcher park.

Encarnacion - best young 3B nobody wants to talk about.

Wood - could be the next Troy Glaus. He'll play 3B in the majors

Shealy - tailor made for that ballpark.

I'd keep EE over Dunn as that batting average is just terrible for Dunn. I'd take 12-15 less homers for the extra 40-50 points in average. Not to mention, EE's statistical prime is still in front of him.

This is what I'm hoping. I'd also like to see Wood get SS eligible, but I'd like to see better than Glaus BA numbers of course. Delgado is getting older and needs to slide off my list, but all but 2 teams kept 1Bers, and a few teams kept 2.

Angels have 2 more years on Cabrera's contract, Erick Aybar is a terrific defensive shorstop, and the Angels have Sean Rodriguez coming up as well. Wood is large and his size will limit him at shortstop which is why the Angels said he will be playing 3B this season. Like Glaus, Wood could pull a couple of games at SS a season but 3B should be his permanent spot.

EE- guy you can pick up late in drafts and probably will give you solid bang for the buck and only will get better if you have a keeper league

Wood- like Knightro was saying, he could be Troy Glaus with better BA. He's got real power.

Shealy- should do well in Kauffman. reminds me of Andres Galarraga.

EdE = stud, mini Tony Perez. Flies under the radar, but should hit 4th or 5th in Reds lineup and has the skills to drive 'em in.

Wood = most overrated prospect I've seen in years. What's his position? Seriously. These things matter. Contact issues...

Shealy = mashes, but so what. He's a 1B, he's supposed to mash. It's in the job description. If anybody thinks he won't mash, dial 'em up.

This is what I'm afraid up, he racks up K's in Dunnian proportions.

Huge Reds :banned:

EdE is a stud in the making. He will not only hit for a decent avg, while giving you 25+ HR's, he has an honest-to-God chance to one day break the single season record for doubles in a season. He's the best young 3B in the NL, not named David Wright. In fact, I'd put them neck-n-neck.

As for Dunn, he was a .300 hitter in the minors, to go with his prodigious power numbers, not to mention his keen batters eye. he is back with his minor league hitting coach (Brook Jacoby), and while I don't expect .300, I honestly believe that he will top .280, giving him an OPS of over .900. Also, his hitting w/ RISP will skyrocket this year.

This is the year Dunn claims his place as one of the best young hitters in the game. Mark it down.
