Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) Trailer (1 Viewer)

The 12 year old in me absolutely loved it. Mature Badmojo didn't get a vote.

Problems with the plot, plot holes, writing and acting (I still dont get wy Kyle Chandler is a leading actor) were overshadowed by not 1, not 2 but 3 battles between Godzilla and Monster Zero.

Lot a cool call backs (Oxygen Bomb, the Twins from Mothra) to previous movies
Monster Zero is the 3 headed thing, right?

Saw this Friday night. Disagree with people who hated it. I thought it was great - exactly what I expected and looked for.

Its totally campy and always funny - sometimes intentional, sometimes not.

If you are going in looking for an academy award winning movie - yea, you'd probably hate it. But we went in looking for something to have fun with and laugh along with. And to see some big monsters kill each other and destroy cities. For that, it was awesome.

And there is always a ... moment when Godzilla first appears. Kind of like the T-Rex in Jurassic.

no

Saw this on Saturday.  The plot was terrible, it suffers from the main characters doing everything except their jobs, but was Godzilla so I could forgive all that.  The problem was not enough monster on monster action.  Millie Bobbie Brown was great as usual.

She's a really good actress. Much better than this material warrants. And I loved the Godzilla/monster fights.

I also barely recognized Zhang Ziyi. She's changed a fair amount since I last saw her. Still beautiful though.

Okay just saw it yesterday. I was very disappointed. It just was all over with the plot. Maybe I need to watch it again.

The next movie in the series is Godzilla vs Kong. With as much of a badass they made Godzilla out to be in this movie, there is no way Kong would last two minutes with him. I mean Samuel L Jackson almost killed Kong. Kong has no super powers. He is flesh and blood and after one radioactive blast, he is going to be On fire. How they make this even remotely believable will be interesting

I went in expecting monsters fighting monsters in Hi Def. I was not disappointed. I was also glad for once that the villain was an idiot environmentalist thinking they were saving the world. Bonus points.

Godzilla sure is stealthy. Sneak attack all film long even though the monsters can sense each other.

They have the fastest and most fuel efficient airplanes even made. Around the world twice on half a tank of gas.

Missile that kills Godzilla destroys oxygen for a “2 mile radius”. Only have 1 of them. Tiny dent in the water. What does the O in H2O stand for? No hydrogen gas?

Other creatures without wings magically get to Boston in 10 minutes after not moving much the previous hour.

All the scientists are commandos with years of training somehow.

Father wants to take his ball and go home. Just happens to have military on standby to fly him alone at a moments notice... in Antarctica. Yeah buddy, we’ll go when the COL says so... not you.

Was hoping to see a monster royal rumble. No king of the ring, err king of the monsters.

Went in hoping for a movie that I’d like to buy a UHD 4k version of, but may not watch a rerun of it.

I enjoyed the last Godzilla movie. This most recent movie was absolute trash. Wow. Like Riffraff noted right above me, so many flaws.

I finally saw it today, and it was actually better than I expected.  That's the beauty of low expectations after hearing for a while that it was trash.   :)

I don't know what others expected.  It was a monster movie.  It's a tradition that the human story is always stupid.  At least it wasn't one of those where the monsters are only in it for like 5 minutes total.

Exactly. We got lots of high quality monster fight scenes.

Could not disagree more. The first Pacific Rim had high quality fight scenes. This movie was dark. CGI was average at best. Cloverfield looked better and that's like 10 years old.

Completely disagree. Pacific Rim was ok but they focused more on humans doing calisthenics than the fights. Cloverfield sucked. I don't know what you couldn't see. Maybe turn up the brightness on the TV.
