Going to Vegas this weekend (1 Viewer)

Leaving tomorrow for Vegas and imagine I will spend some time in the sports book on Sunday.

Who's got a winner for me?

Also, what's the best sports book? I lucked out and got a table at the Bellagio one NFL Sunday but haven't really been to any others. Anywhere that you know you can sit and get a table?

Here's the spreads for this week:

Kansas City 1 MIAMI 40

JACKSONVILLE 10½ Houston 37½

San Diego 1½ CINCINNATI 47½

ATLANTA 9 Cleveland 41

Baltimore 7 TENNESSEE 38

INDIANAPOLIS 11½ Buffalo 45

PITTSBURGH 4½ New Orleans 45

PHILADELPHIA 7 Washington 43

NY GIANTS PK Chicago 38½

MINNESOTA 5 Green Bay 39½

NEW ENGLAND 10½ NY Jets 39½

DETROIT 6 San Francisco 45

Denver 9 OAKLAND 33½

SEATTLE 3½ St. Louis 43½

Dallas 7 ARIZONA 43

Monday, Nov. 13

CAROLINA 9½ Tampa Bay 37

Here's the ones I have the most confidence in:

KC (plus the Over)

Atl/Cle Over

NE/Jets Over

Sea/StL Over

TB

I usually find the most success determining Over/Under. I just so happen to like some of these Overs this week.

Good luck!

I'm not much of an under better but I love the Packer vs Vikes under. The Vikes feature an old QB and IMO the worst group of WR's in the NFL and Chester is getting beat up. The Pack will come out wanting to run but they won't be able to and Farve historically does not play well in Minny.

Dallas is going to roll Arizona

The Lions sholdn't be giving 6 to anybody

Tennessee will keep it close, don't like Baltimore giving 7

After the big win over Dallas, their will be an emotional let down, Philly will club the Skins.

Why you heading to Vegas....Business?...What kind?Eagles after a BYE is usually easy money!
Bachelor party. It's going to be ugly. Last time this crew got together for a bachelor party in Vegas they could have made a movie about it. One guys getting hit for $3400 in the Emporer's Palace in the Crazy Horse (passed out), the bachelor got mugged in an alley by transvestites, I got my wallet hijacked at the pool, someone fell asleep at the pool for 4 hours with sunglasses on and these are only the stories that I can tell in public.I'm hoping to pay for my trip with everyone's help on the board here. Keep them coming!

Fodder for an interesting toast at the reception?

I was the best man and definitely left him off the hook too easily.

The sportsbook at Wynn is phenomenal, especially if you can get a leather recliner. You get free drink tickets if you bet in excess of $100 if you ask the bookie.

Also can't go wrong at The Mirage, with the Poker room right beside the Book.

For best odds: teaser, parlay and straight up I've had success at The Mirage, the Hilton, Bally's and Flamingo.

Good point. You never want to have opinions other than your own, especially if you are not a self proclaimed expert.I gave up on betting with a local book years ago because I was no good at it. The real question is how can you sit in a sports book in Vegas and not bet? This is why I ask you, oh infallible one, to please bestow some of your vast knowledge upon me.Edited to add: That's it. You are all out of my will when I hit it big.

It's just the thought that losers like us know any better... Oh and take the Ravens, the Det/SF over and the Minnesota under. You'll be swimming in cash.

So what's the secret to landing one of those leather recliners? We have 6 guys from our fantasy league meeting in vegas next weekend and are trying to figure out the best place to watch football on sunday.ETA- Sorry to hijack and I'll throw in Vikings/Packers to cover and San Diego -1. I agree with most posters that expect the defenses to dominate in the Vikes game, considering how poorly BJ has been playing and how bad Favre has been at the Metrodome historically. I see this leading a few turnovers, which usually means points. I've watched enough games between these teams to know that Favre will either throw 3 touchdowns or 3 interceptions. This week, I'd expect it to be the interceptions, but either makes the over a winner. I also like SD because I think that they will run all over the Bengals, and control the clock.

Not a hijack at all. I know at the Bellagio people had the tables reserved until after the early game and then when they left we snagged them. I have no idea about the other casinos but I really would rather not sit in the little wooden school desks for 6 hours.

I like sitting in ESPN Zone at NYNY for games if you can get in front of the big screens. You have to get there early though. The only problem is that you have to leave the restaurant to bet as the sports book isnext to ESPN Zone.

I like the Bellagio sports book as well. I was in Vegas a couple weeks ago and it looked like MGM upgraded their book. I didn't watch games there but it looked a lot better then it used to.

You guys would save money in the long run if you have my setup. HD 65", HD 61", and a 53" and two 27" screens. 5 on one wall is the only way to go. It is pretty hard to 1) watch them all and 2) find a good time to go to the bathroom. Now if the NFL would play more games at 4 pm, everything would be good.

Strange enough, we have a similar setup too except it is 1 56" and 4 27". The secret to watching them all is not to move your head, just kind of blur your eyes. As far as saving me some money, unless you are located in Vegas and have a sports book, you won't save me a dime.

at your house??????????????????????? must have a great wife

Imperial Palace opens the theatre where their Legends show performs. Free tiered seating, cute waitresses and five or six projection screens. Plenty of room for groups bigger than four. And don't parlay-it's a suckers bet. Bet single games as you can lose one and still make money.

Check out the water show in front of Bellagio. Every half hour, IIRC.

Next, check out the cocktail waitresses at Mandalay Bay. The ones at the Venetian are also hot.

Finally, parlay Houston, Denver and the UNDER in the St. Louis/Seattle game for a 6:1 payoff.

Have fun! :banned:

I didn't mean come to my house because I charge more for drinks than the bars  I just meant that between eating out and drinking out and using someone else's bathrom and ...you are better to set your own deal up.I focus on one play at a time and bounce around.

Yep, she puts up with that but there are always compromises. It actually works well for the times she wants to watch something (or the kids) because I can watch sporting events without sound. 2 tv's in one room is a MUST. 5 is excessive, but very useful for football. I use 3-4 when baseball overlaps with other sports.

Boy, I'm looking pretty bad - which means good. ;)

Ravens -7: LossDet/SF over 45: Loss

Min/GB under 39.5: Loss

I think I've made my point.

(So how'd you do?)

Well guys. Not so good. I bet 6 parleys and hit on two.....games that is. That's right. I actually managed to only pick Philly and Chicago out of 18 bets. :bag:

Blackjack was good to me. The whole trip, airfare, hotel, entertainment, only ended up costing me $300. Thank God I didn't ask any of you guys for blackjack advice.

Thanks anyway for the try. Mungo Burrows, I think it was you that said if I was asking for advice on a message board that I probably shouldn't be betting. You are wise beyond your years.

If you went against my picks - you would've gone 11-5 :excited: :bag:
