Here was the stupidest thing about that episode. He finally admits he never shot Oswald Cobblepott but he waits until he gets to the police precinct in front of everybody (ie the people that he was trying to hide the fact from so he doesnt get killed). Why didnt he just tell the two detectives at the apartment when he got arrested or in the squad car on the way there?

My guess is because he doesn't trust them.

If anything, I think everyone now knowing that Gordon didn't shoot Cobblepot hurts Harvey more than it does Gordon, since he vouched for Gordon. Should make for some interesting tension between the partners now.

Definitely leading us in an interesting direction regarding Falcone. Only knew the character from the Nolan movie, and this one seems like a completely different take than that.

This show is still the one thing my 16 year old son and I seem able to talk about, and it was fun for me to see him recognize Victor Zsasz. I'd never heard of him, but my son gave me a little bit of his background.

I watched 5 minutes of this and saw when who I presume is the penguin stabbed a guy and killed him after paying his goons off. I know it is just one scene, but it was pretty brutally written and acted.

Surprised to see him play Falcone so easily, both in the meat locker and in this last episode. Falcone didn't seem like a guy who could be played. Started to wonder what their relationship was when Falcone accepted Oz's peace offering so readily.

Yeah, it's tough. They've done a good job showing that Falcone isn't stupid (he's not falling for Fish's tricks), but there's a limit to what they can do with him. When Gordon or Penguin cross him, he can't kill them. So that's going to make him look weak. The real issue is the show needs to stop doing these fake "I'm going to kill Penguin/Gordon" storylines. We know how it's going to end, and it only makes the characters look ineffective when they don't follow through.

I'd either make Penguin/Gordon really strong characters (which they've mostly done), or stop having people try to kill them.

Pretty sure that's what they're doing now. Not entirely sure if Harvey is safe.

Remember Penguin's mantra: There's no honor among thieves. For that reason, there's always going to be that tension and scheming against each other, so I think they're going to have to keep going around and around with threats of arrest/assassination.

Definitely didn't have a 'PC' ending this time. Preview for the next episode appears to have Selina and Bruce interacting. I hope it goes well...

yes.

I've enjoyed it more than Shield, if you like comic shows or movies it's worth watching.

As I mentioned earlier, it's become one of my favorite shows.

Bruce is a tad annoying right now, the actor is just stiff. But given that his parents were just murdered, couldn't blame a kid for that. Cat could help him big time.

I kind of like this take; we got a glimpse of his ugly side, which we usually don't see until after he's become a villian. The trick is going to be keeping it in small doses.

Also, when Kat started talking about her parents, she reminded me of Ally Sheedy's character in The Breakfast Club.

Cut to outside the warehouse. Bad guys drive off as Gordon and partner emerge and watch them drive away.

Hey Jim, your ####### police car is in the shot right behind you twenty feet away. Maybe you could run and get in and follow? Or is GCPD standard procedure to not pursue bomb making kidnappers once they have a 15 second lead on you?

I'm guessing Penguin 'messed up' on purpose, for reasons we'll learn in the near future.

I also liked tonight's episode; the only thing I don't like is that it seems they tried to cram too many different storylines into the episode. I think the stuff with Barbara could have waited for another day and maybe a little more time given to Arkham since it was our first real encounter with it, but overall I liked what they presented last night, even though I saw how the last scene was going to end as soon as it started.

Fox is already shoring up plans for next season’s lineup with early sophomore season renewals for dramas “Gotham” and “Empire” and a third season nod for comedy “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”

The orders for “Gotham” (pictured) and “Empire” were no-brainers, as both shows have performed well — really well in the case of “Empire” — for the network and made plenty of noise in social media. The renewals were announced Saturday during Fox’s presentation at the Television Critics Assn. press tour in Pasadena, Calif.

“Gotham,” the Batman origins story, hails from Warner Bros. TV and exec producer Bruno Heller, Danny Cannon and John Stephens. Ben McKenzie, Donal Logue and Jada Pinkett-Smith star. The show has to date averaged 10.6 million viewers and 4.2 rating in adults 18-49 in Nielsen’s live-plus-7 ratings.

“Empire” has been the sleeper hit of the season, barreling out of the gate last week with an impressive bow and gaining in its second week. To date the show is averaging 10.3 million viewers and a 5.3 adults 18-49 rating — an enviable number for any network.

The Imagine TV/20th Century Fox TV drama was created by Lee Daniels and Danny Strong, with Ilene Chaiken serving as showrunner. Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Francie Calfo also exec produce. Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson lead the ensemble cast in the sudser about a hip-hop music mogul.

The early renewal for Universal TV’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” was more of a surprise. The comedy set in a Brooklyn police station has been a respectable performer in its second season but not as impressive as the other dramas.
