While I think it's a good decision for the Jaguars to re-sign Greg, my Q is about Greg. I know many here really think pretty highly of him as a runner; or used to think highly of him as a runner. He had the chance to be an UFA but, signed with the Jags again.

Good move or bad move?

Thoughts?

Lets face it man Greg is a tweener who's luck as being a HB may have run out and now must face the reality of his situation. His best bet is to stay with a coach who believes in him and might call his number if need be.

He's in a good situation given how much he's proven so far in the NFL.Also, if FTaylor or MJD get injured, he's likely the next man up for a run-heavy team.If he gets a chance to produce in 08, he may land a better deal in 09.I'm not sure if another team would afford him as much chance / upside as JAX right now.

Good move for GJ. He does have the skill to be an effective RB given 2 things. 1) he stays healthy 2) he gets the chance.Let's face it, Greg is not going to go to another team and walk in as a starter. this year's class of RBs is very deep, and most teams that need a RB will draft one (chances are a damn good one) on the second day.Greg gets to stay with a team that he is familiar with and go into camp with an edge. he more than likely won't ever perform up to what some (myself included) expected, and will always be one of those "if he ever gets a chance" guys.

good deal for Greg. Once Fred hangs it up he'll slide into Fred's role in their RBBC. Once that happens he won't be as productive as Fred but prolly will surely eat into MJD Goaline carries.
