We have this guy at our office that’s in a wheel chair. The reason being, he's obese. When I started here fifteen years ago, he was overweight and just kept getting bigger and bigger. First he started using a cane, and now is in the wheel chair. He is able to get out of his car, get the wheel chair out and then wheel himself around, so he certainly isn’t confined to the chair. I know on a technical basis, he is handicapped. He has a handicap plate and can park in the handicap parking spaces. My question is this..and this is where things gets serious; when I go into the bathroom, should I feel bad about using the handicap accessible stall? I’ve been in the stall when he’s wheeled into the restroom. He used the urinal, but it certainly isn’t his preferred method. We have about twenty men that work here and he is the only handicapped person on the premises. Because of our work function, it would be rare that an outsider would come in and obviously even more rare they would be handicapped. Should I be more sensitive to this guy’s plight?
