Hank Baskett (1 Viewer)

look go away im looking for someone that knows something you can go away now. ask the commish.com did report this but im wondering if anyone else heard this someone else bri get lost,
There are four pages on this guy. Read them and you will know as much as everyone here.

The great thing about this is that who's the #1 wr that Basket is behind, Reggie Brown? A nice wr but by no means a guaranteed go to option that is going to get X number of balls especailly if facing the other teams top CB. This could turn out to be a 1A/1B situation. I realize that it's early and a lot could change but a passing offense with no rock solid #1 (2nd year wr) it seems this could be a situation with a lot of potential upside for a small investment.
to bank on a rook WR because a 2nd year WR is inexperienced seems like flawed logic to me
who's banking? I'm talking about taking a guy for nearly nothing on a passing offense where there are no "established targets" at the WR position. By the same token who's Reggie Brown? My point was that the talent at the #1 WR is not a TO, Moss, Andre Johnson, Joe Horn, Lee Evans, etc. He's arguably the worst #1 in the league and a guy who got a lot of targets/yards last year because he was the only WR with a pulse.
IMO if you draft him you plan on getting something out of him="banking" whether it's 18th round or 2nd round.
:lmao:

It means I think you're being slightly ridiculous referring to a 17 round flyer as someone you're "banking on".

well you're entitled to your opinion.People in this thread like his potential and want to see how things work out and no one drops a rookie WR too quickly. This kind of player can be a trap where you spend much of your season waiting for something/anything stat-wise to give ya reason to hold onto hope. If I take a flyer in the 17th round on a veteran of a few years, it's easier to form a quick opinion, watch a couple weeks, and drop him. Eric Parker for example.Baskett seems to be the type where people will have trouble cutting the cord. That 17th round pick holds alot more value to them than it would to me with Eric Parker.

anyone still a believer? or did this guys buzz sink like the titanic when stallworth came into town?

*chirp* *chirp*

There's still a lot of potential there. He's still just one Stallworth hammy from starting in an offense that loves to throw the ball.

Avant has probably caught up to him. They are 2 very good #3 types but with Stallworth, Brown, Westbrook, CBuck, LJ Smith and Schoebel I doubt Baskett (or Avant) see much at all this year. 30-40 catches tops. As the year goes on Brown and Stallworth will progress. With McNabb QB'ing I would expect LJ to be the #1.

Here's the most recent blurb about Baskett's role.

Baskett debutAndy Reid confirmed that undrafted rookie Hank Baskett will be the No. 1 slot receiver tomorrow, though he said the Eagles will be "rolling guys in there" - presumably meaning Jason Avant and Greg Lewis will get inside looks, as well.Baskett, who became the people's choice at Lehigh, acknowledged he was excited."I bought, like, 20 tickets for this game," Baskett said. He said friends and family will fly or drive more than 600 miles from his hometown of Clovis, N.M., to Houston for his NFL debut. "I've already got more than 100 people from Clovis going to Dallas [when the Eagles play there Christmas Day]. All my town was Dallas fans, but now, people are trying to find a place to get Eagles stuff. It's weird for people who have been Cowboys fans to say they're Eagles fans now. That's bitter rivals, right there."Baskett tried to sum up what it means for a player to finally reach the top level of his profession."My best friend and I were talking about it - high school coaches and college coaches always say, 'You see the guys playing on Sunday? This is how they do it'... Now, I'm the guy playing on Sunday. It makes you stop and think about things," Baskett said.Moving into the slot from the outside means going from playing a corner one-on-one to "feeling your way through" traffic, jousting with linebackers and safeties, Baskett said. At 6-4, 220, he seems well-equipped."I like my size in there. I get to match up with those guys a little better," he said. "There's going to be more contact, but contact comes with the job."

Scratcher, thanks for the update.

I really think that people on this board need to start differentiating between Dynasty leagues and Redraft when discussing players. Hank here is a prime example why.

In a redraft league, Hank B has very little value and is easily someone you can pick up on the WW if need be. Even so as a rookie WR, he will have minimal impact this year, but someone to keep an eye on for next year.

But for those of us in Dynasty leagues, (especially shark filled ones such as mine), its important to get information on players like this who you do "bank" for the next 2 or so years.

There definitely needs to be less pissing in the Shark pool.

Has Baskett's value gone up since

the injury to stallworth ?

It seems like Greg Lewis is the current beneficiary.

Great game by Baskett. Will he keep getting the playing time and looks after this great week 5 game. Or is he going back to being the Baskett of the first few weeks, a waiver wire player.

There's still a lot of potential there. He's still just one Stallworth hammy from starting in an offense that loves to throw the ball.
:goodposting: you called it dude, propsif baskett would have hung on to the highlight reel diving catch he might have won offensive player of the week honors, what was it like a 40 yd throwas of now he is leading in yards for a wr this week

He's starting for me this week over Fitz.
Was considering HB for Jennings on a bye, and wanted to know if anyone had updated info on Stallworth's hammy. (i.e. more than "questionable" yet again)Baskett could have a nice game @ NO. TIA
In the same position. Have McCardell plugged in right now (he was starting to look healthier last week and like the match up v. SF) but considering picking up Baskett instead. Eric Parker is another possibility as well.

Attaboy Hank.Way to make me look good on pimping you.
:D he does seem like a good rookJeff, asked a Q in another thread, lemme ask ya.Doesn't he just go deep? So if he doesn't get a bomb each game he's pretty eh in FF?Of course, those are the only highlights I see and haven't seen many Philly games. If you had Lewis and Baskett, which do you start and why? does Stallworth have to be out to start one?

i would say yes. when stallworth has played, mcnabb throws to him all the time. After Stallworth, LJ, Westbrook and maybe reggie, the other WRs are not FF starting material.

So what are the thoughts on this guy now? Bust?
Can an undrafted free agent still on the roster a few years down the line be considered a bust?Probably competing for a roster spot (again) this year.
Not in NFL terms, but that word means different things in different contexts. I'm just asking whether it's been generally concluded that he's not going to pan out in fantasy terms.
