I have the top pick, in a redraft H2H league tonight. I'm trying to decide between Hanley Ramirez or Jose Reyes. Thoughts?

Hanley and it really isn't close.................Patrick Bateman said:I have the top pick, in a redraft H2H league tonight. I'm trying to decide between Hanley Ramirez or Jose Reyes. Thoughts?
How do you figure it's not close? They're the same age and play the same position.Last year, they were separated by 12 runs, 1 RBI, and .004 in BA so those categories are almost washes. I realize Hanley trumped Jose in two of the three, but it's well within reason to assume Reyes can catch him.The big differences are that Hanley hit 17 more HR while Reyes stole 21 more bags. Typically I'd rather have the HR over the SB but the fact remains that each guy was significantly ahead in a category.Hanley SHOULD be in better RBI spots this year batting 3rd which is why I have him ahead of Reyes, but it's not so outrageously different that there's not a decision to be made in my opinion.Hanley and it really isn't close.................Patrick Bateman said:I have the top pick, in a redraft H2H league tonight. Hanley probably has 40/40 potential. Reyes certainly doesn't have that. Also, Hanley isn't a mental midget like Reyes.......How do you figure it's not close? They're the same age and play the same position.Last year, they were separated by 12 runs, 1 RBI, and .004 in BA so those categories are almost washes. Great post, but I think if you're going to bump him for RBI's moving to 3rd I think you should also bump down his steals a tad. He could be the exception, but I have a hard time believing he ends up with as many steal attempts there. How do you figure it's not close? They're the same age and play the same position.Hanley and it really isn't close.................Patrick Bateman said:I have the top pick, in a redraft H2H league tonight. I think the exact opposite is true, if anything. I'm afraid Han Ram's power may be maxed out and Reyes may have room for growth. I'm not expecting more than 15-17 HR's from Reyes, but I think it's possible. I'd be surprised if Han Ram matches his 08 HR total.Plus Hanley is capable of 35-40 HRs, Reyes is maxed out in power around 14-20.
I thought about that, but I don't think he'll lose too many. He had 35 last year and I can't see the Marlins suddenly stopping him on the basepaths much from that figure. They're going to need to manufacture runs and if he does drop off I don't think it'll go below 30. The drop from 35 to 30 is in my opinion more than offset by the ribbies going up to the 90 range.Great post, but I think if you're going to bump him for RBI's moving to 3rd I think you should also bump down his steals a tad. From what I have been reading this will probably be Hanleys last year at SS, he is tall and filling out. Next year he may be in the outfield ot at third base.So get him at SS for one more year.I think the exact opposite is true, if anything. Wright.
i like your team, but you dont have a stud pitcher which is going to hurt. Your relief corps are weak too. Really nice lineup.I took Hanley #1. I hate my team though. You might be lagging a bit on HR's though.thehornet said:i like your team, but you dont have a stud pitcher which is going to hurt. Your relief corps are weak too. Yeah, there was a huge run on pitchers early on, and I resisted. I was taking the best players available. I'm a firm believer in picking up pitchers during the season on waivers. Our league scoring sets up really weak for relievers, so I'm not too worried about that. I'm a little light on power, but I'm hoping to make that up with speed. Our league scoring gives 2 pts. per SB.thehornet said:i like your team, but you dont have a stud pitcher which is going to hurt. Your relief corps are weak too. Really nice lineup.I took Hanley #1. Wasn't it bothering him last year too? What's the deal with Hanley's shoulder?
