Woke up to coffee, bacon, eggs and a cream puff on a tray. Ate breakfast in bed (which actually isn't that much fun to try and do). Girls made me cards telling me how awesome I am. Going out to my BILs house for some boating this afternoon. US open will be on. Elijah Craig and ribs are on tap for dinner.

Woke up and sat on the couch with a cup of coffee. Wife walked by and gave me a kiss and told me she was going out for a morning run.

Five minutes later my phone rings. It's her, "Oh s**t.  Happy Father's Day. Sorry."

Got a sweet new Honda lawnmower for Father's Day.  I picked it out, paid for it, and picked it up yesterday.  But my family did approve of the purchase, so it feels like a gift.

 
Big ups to all the fathers out there doing fatherly things every day. Our societal and individual gratitude knows no bounds.

Happy Father's Day gents.  Most important job we have.  Love watching the US Open then just having them all over for a BBQ at home. Have a brisket on the smoker now and the Franklin BBQ manifesto to guide me. Should be a great day 

 
Home indoors all day because my son has a really bad chest cold, trouble breathing, and fever. Movie marathon. First watched miss pereguine and now star trek beyond. Cooking my own dinner as my wife went out to dinner with her dad. Hopeful I don't have to bring him to urgent care.

Going to see one of my sons and his newborn son today so that'll be sweet. Gonna talk to my other son today, and probably all his kids as well.

Every fathers day I remember a story my grandfather told me. When he was a boy he'd help his grandfather put up hay in the barn. When it would get about an hour from when the dinner bell would ring his grandpa would nod towards the fishing poles, put his fingers to his lips to signify silence, and they'd sneak down to the creek, fish,  and get back for dinner without being seen or caught by his grandma. I can see that barn, and house, and the bamboo poles, and the woods and the creek vividly. Never been there, but it's vivid and alive to me.

I'm chilling by the pool, smoking a cigar, have a knockoff yeti filled with budlight, on episode 2 of the Grateful Dead Amazon Original.  About to light up the egg.  Steaks

Helped the wife fold laundry

About to do some paperwork for the adoption and school registration

Then heading to the pool

Dinner (leftovers)

Walk the dog

US Open and baking crunchy keto chicken wings (use baking powder) in the oven.  75 total wings in three batches.  Making a traditional low carb butter and Frank's sauce and homemade chunky blue cheese sauce for dipping.  

Will have a couple jack and diet cokes later.  

 
Finished a Hunger Games marathon. Because, and I'm sure everyone is in agreement here, nothing is as satisfying on Father's Day as the thought of making teenagers engage in bloodsports to the death.

I don't have children so I decided to do some volunteer work. Spent the day at the strip club with those poor girls without fathers.
