Happy Mardi Gras Y'all! (1 Viewer)

Heading to a conference at the Sheraton New Orleans this Sunday. Anyone know the area? Hotel is on Canal Street.

When do the main Mardi Gras festivities begin?

Happy Mardi Gras guys! Drink a Hurricane and a Hand Granade for me. :goodposting:
Screwdrivers & Bloody Mary's and some beer for the afternoon, but will probably be pretty tame. Kid dictates the pace today. And my wife has him in some brokeback mountain gear looking thing. At least it looks like we will be leaving in the next 1/2 hour.

:goodposting: Mmmm...tuesday morning bloody marys are the best.
I heard the size of the crowd has been decent, but there were problems finding enough people to work (it was on the news this morning here in Detroit). Is that true?Happy Paczki Day!
Have the crowds really been that good? Just out of curiosity, I looked on Expedia yesterday, and there were tons of rooms at decent hotels in and around the FQ for last night and tonight for <$200. Probably half of what the rates were two years ago.

this is the day of the year I miss living in NOLA. I would love to show my kids what the big deal about today was when I was a kid, but i'll just have to take them to see it for themselves one day. For the rest of you who might be visiting\living there...have a great time!
