Fell in love with Harry the summer of 1989. I had just finished up a six year hitch in the Navy, living in a Michigan beach town. Classes didn't start until the fall, and I was living with a bunch of college kids. I had three equally crappy part-time jobs: 2nd shift valet parking at the horse track, 3rd shift grocery stocker, and weekends at the marina gas dock. Got drunk everyday and nursed my daily hangovers while listening to Steve Stone & Harry on WGN. Cubs had a great team that year, and I've never had more fun. When Harry would come back from his radio he'd be totally sloshed, and it was time for us start drinking again.

The best part was that mentioning that the price of beer in 1971 and 1972 was nothing like now. You could probably get a six pack of beer for about $2 then. I can't imagine they were charging $3 to $5 at bars at restaurants like they do now. In order to get about around $9 A DAY PER PERSON, you have to think he is giving away a good case worth of beer each time.
