If you pulled a mickey mouse, BS stunt like that in one of the leagues where I serve as commissioner your team would be locked down for the rest of the season, you'd forfeit any wins to date, all those players would be back in the FA pool immediately and you would be looking for a new league next year.
OR you could change the rules so it can't happen again, let the guy stay but also change his team name to the tulips and change his logo to a pink football helmet with flowers on it.

Have a rule that any player that is picked up that week must be in the starting lineup for the week, otherwise the game ends in a forfeit...
That is a really dumb rule.

First, I would never have this problem because I dont play in leagues with 12 year olds.

Second, I only play in leauges where the commish has the ability to make changes at any time, so as to undo any action by a stupid 12 year old.

Third, I only play in leagues where I know the other owners - and ignorant gits are not allowed.

The deal is this - there is the literal following of the rules, and following the intent of the rules. If you had to come up with a rule to deal with every stupid git, your rules would be in the 100's of pages. You play the game to win, not to jerk around the other people in the league.

Grow up. Go back to cheating at Starcraft

this is a standard practice in our league...nothing against the rules here.

we have a salary cap, a roster limit...you can bid on, drop players however you see fit, it is a question of who do you drop to pick up players to block someone else....is it worth it or not? a normal week we have had several owners picking up 5 - 6 wide receivers as an example, and dropping them all the next week, which effectivly keeps them unavailable for 2 weeks.

oh, this is a 10 team keeper league, we have all been in this league for at least 10 years.

I think this is a neat added dimension to your league.

I have no issue with a player using this if it is not covered by the rules.

I do however have a problem with the commish that feels he can make up rules and kick teams out of the league because he doesn't like it.

Fix it in the rules and live with it. In the time I have been playing I've seen this along with other odd bending of the rules.

Wow, all you guys use Yahoo? Who knew FBGs had a boatload of cheap SOBs? :)

Rather than assume we all use Yahoo as a league-host site or have FCFS waivers, a league should have waivers once a week to avoid having jokers like you do something like this.

Then you would be a candidate to leave the league when the commish did his job. That's fine, too. You would be happier in a league where "anything goes" as long as there isn't a specific rule forbidding it. Some folks like that. Others prefer to be in a league where the game is fantasy football-- not "let's try to find loopholes in the rules." You could spend 150 years changing rules every offseason and not cover everything. The rule book doesn't have to look like a law student's textbook. Just use common sense.I don't think a commish would be kicking out a team becuse he "doesn't like it." He would be removing the kind of owner that doesn't fit in with people who just want to play fantasy football. It's one thing to keep a player away from a competitor. That's part of the game. It's another to exploit the software on a Web site. Some people think "let's try to find loopholes" is more fun than fantasy football. Some owners feel helpless to speak up, throw up their hands and meekly sugggest rules should be changed after the season. Both should find other leagues to play in. That's the great thing about fantasy football. There are always places to play. The loophole-finder and the enabler should join a league together, because they work well in concert.
