Yes, there is a flaw. This team is weak at the RB position. Maroney has shown nothing and Faulk is injured now. This team will lose. If it takes all the way to the SB, and it has to be the Cowboys, that would be fine with me. Certainly, if Dallas can ever get both starting CBs in at the same time, things might be different. Moss is NOT that good. Christ, if a team could just cover him instead of looking at the name on the back of his jersey, they would do well.

Dallas has no running game either.

People were also saying this about GB then GB started to rush the ball. IMO the Patriots score however they like. If they wanted to run Maroney they would and could, but with Moss, Welker, Stallworth, etc. there is not really a need to now. Plus they can rest Maroney for the stretch run by playing this way.I think GB and NE are very similar styles right now. Of course NE has slightly better pieces, like Moss. The Ravens won a Super Bowl with only a Defense. I don't think the Pats ability or imo unwillingness to run the ball costs them anything. This team can win it all like they are playing.

I think what you've noticed is that they are so dominant with their passing game that they don't bother to run very often.

That does not mean they can't run---it only means they have not yet had a need to. Since they've already played two of the three best other teams, I think we can probably say that the focus on the passing game is not likely to be a major problem for them.

I noticed they don't need one.
:lmao: That is what is amazing watching this team. I thought the Rams with K. Warner, Bruce, Holt, and M. Faulk was the best offensive team I ever watched, not anymore. The Patriots score so fast and make it look too easy. I don't know if the Nfl is just that bad, or the Patriots are just so much better than everyone. I tend to believe the Patriots are just that so good offensively it is sick.

How the hell do you know this????

If someone would stop the pass, we could assess the run that they dont have

They could be in trouble if:

- Moss gests injured

- Weather makes it close to impossible to pass

Otherwise they don't need a running game.

Belichick traditionally uses the short passing game as a running game. For example in 2003 they won the super bowl with Mike Cloud leading the team with 5 rushing TDs.

This might actually be the most moronic post on this board. Almost moreso than the comment that Moss isn't that good.If Maroney is nothing else he is rested. The guy doesn't do anything...ever! What's he averaging for touches a game? Week 11 and he scored his 1st TD and has a couple 100 yard days. He's dang near more rested than Ricky Williams and Tiki Barber.

The Patriots are a Dynasty team in the age of free agency. There is no competition. No teams are great. I despise them because they are so EASY to hate. More so than any other team because their coach is SUCH a jerkof$ and Brady, who I used to love, is annoying as well. Again, in this game, they go for it on forth down and goal when they have a safe lead. I don't ever recall seeing this. Yes, I hear people say, ' so defend them', but guess what, no one has ever tested that theory, at least in the 35 years I have been watching football. They will lose. Statistically, it is against them. So I will wait......... And hope. AND REJOICE when they lose. Hey, to go from a team that I actually root for to a team that I despise, is quite an achievement. Character in man is critical.

Jilted Maroney owner heh? Well you can call me whatever you like, but the fact is that Maroney is still banged up and now he's banged up again. They know they need him for the run, never said they intentionally play this way to save Maroney, but one of the benefits of their current playing style is that they can get their backfield healthy.

Don't be bitter. Really, wouldn't it be more enjoyable simply to stare in amazement at something we've not seen in our lives? I'm not a Pats fan, and it shouldn't matter. This is the art of offensive football at its finest. Marvel at it. Don't hate on it. I've never understood why, in any area of life, those who are superb at what they do get hated simply because of their greatness. I guess it's envy.

NE doesn't need a running game.

They only need the threat of one.

Seriously.

While Maroney has not had a great year, teams still have to respect the potential he has whenever he touches the ball. Seems like all Brady needs is to have one defender in the box in order to exploit a seam in the D, what with the plethora of quality hands on that team.

Through ten games they are fourth in rushing attempts and fourth in yards. Seems like they can run fairly well. They are tenth in pass attempts.
