Hasselbeck out Sunday. Affects on BMW, Lynch, NYG Def? (1 Viewer)

Matt Hasselbeck (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday, and head coach Pete Carroll has said there's a chance the Bald Bomber will be unable to play in Week 9 against the Giants, according to the Tacoma News Tribune.

Our View:

In the event that Hasselbeck is unable to play this Sunday, Charlie Whitehurst would see his first action of the season. Whitehurst has been receiving first-team reps this week to prepare him for the potential start.

Bump NYG a lot. Whitehurst has nice arm strength but is very inaccurate and I think will be shakey/overmatched by a good D.

ETA: That said, I just dropped Moore for Whitehurst in a superflex league.

Giants D is going to STEAMROLL. I think the more interesting battle in this game will be Bradshaw and Jacobs against a pretty good Seahawks run D. Lord knows that the Giants will run them with all the TOP they will have.

Hoping BMW can get back to his nice production, but I'm skeptical. The only thing going for SEA is that they are at home, where they play much better.

In preseason, Whitehurst threw a lot to BMW and Tate. BMW in the first few weeks when BMW was still 2nd string. Tate in the last few weeks. Not sure it means anything.

Tate is hurt (ankle) but might play.
