i def see your point. I think id rather risk it with heap than watch crumps show up for 2 rec and 18 yards again. as silly as it soundsHe's on my bench behind Heath Miller. No ####### way will I start him...and it's not like Heath Miller is all-world or anything.
great points. I think with even half the snaps most of the marginal TE's will get, heap may be a better start. honestly, 4 rec for 40 yards would be delightful. :sad:He's intriguing because it's an excellent matchup. I'm probably going to pass on inserting him because I have a good alternative (Cooley), and I don't trust that he'll get a huge majority of the snaps, but definitely not a bad play over a marginal option. The Falcons are going to be a mess for the rest of the year with Petrino leaving, so I wouldn't be comfortable with Crumpler either.
He went out for the coin flip and it landed on his toe and broke it.I have Algea Crumps and I do not want to use him. TE is my weakest spot this year due to Heap being hurt all year essentially. Anybody? Let me have it.
Depends on reports later in the week. If he's relatively healthy and going to start, I'll have him in my lineup. Only thing worse than suffering through a long year of Heap's injuries is being bitter from said injuries and missing a big game from Heap when he's finally back.
the coach said he would probably give it a go this week. nothing set in stone.can someone point me to where it says he's gonna play? thx
This was from ESPN's Around the AFC.Billick also said Todd Heap has not yet been ruled out for the season. "Todd will try to give it a go this week," said Billick. Even if Heap returns, between his lengthy absence due to hamstring troubles and the team's issues at quarterback, he isn't at all a trustworthy option for fantasy owners.
yep. My backup bum is LJ Smith (picked him up and dropped Desmond Clark before the deadline) and it's not looking real good for him this week.It likely depends on the backup bum you've been running out there the past 6-8 weeks while Heap has been screwing us. I've run McMichael and Bo Scaife out there in recent weeks, with little to show for it.Really sucks when you draft the safest TE (value wise) and he blows up in your face. Easily one of the most frustrating players I drafted this year, along with Maroney.
Head coach Brian Billick discussed the status of starting TE Todd Heap (hamstring) on Monday.“I think he’s going to give it a go early in the week. The key is to get Todd early, and if he can work through the week, then we’ve got a chance. Nursing him through, having him practice a little the latter part of the week, and see what happens on game day hasn’t worked out real well. So we should know early in the week. If he can push through pretty good on Wednesday, we’ll have a better idea then.”Fantasy AnalysisEven if Heap comes back this week, he's hardly trustworthy at this point so think of him as your backup for the rest of the way.
That's really the key right there. If you are in bad shape and need to take a chance, he is a good guy to do it with considering his POTENTIAL. If you have an even remotely viable option though, you should be using it.Nigel Tufnel said:With Watson laying egg after egg, I might take a chance with him.
