Help me - First year playing fantasy baseball (1 Viewer)

shuke

Black Ice Skeptic
14 team mixed league, 5x5.

I drafted Emil Brown for one of my OF spots, only to learn recently that he'll be platooning with Gload.

I also have Marcus Thames and Josh Hamilton on my bench. I have Juan Encarnacion, but he is on the DL, so I had to start Brown on Monday.

I guess my first question is where do I find probable lineups for each game? I can not find them anywhere. Do I have to wait until 10 minutes before the game? I'm not sure if Brown and Thames are in actual R/L platoon situations or if they'll just be randomly inserted into games.

As soon as Kouzmanoff becomes 3B eligible, I can move him to my CI spot and move Youkilis to the OF. But until then, do I need to pick someone up to play every day, or do I just plug in Brown/Thames/Hamilton as necessary. Is it way too early to be worrying about filling all my spots? Still learning how this whole roto baseball thing works.

yahoo shows lineups about an hour ahead.

do you have daily lineup changes? hitters limits? more important to have a variety of positions on your bench if you do.

yankees/tampa is rained out today. if you have hitter limits, it is less of a big deal,as the game will be played eventually. if no limits, and you can slot on a bench player, you'll get some extra at bats.

Where? All I can find are the starting pitchers along with the generic preview write-ups like this.
Click on your lineup/roster for today - Players that are starting will have "0"'s next to their names.Platoon guys drive me nuts. You have any full time players on your WW? Such as a Moises Alou or Shawn Green?

Edit to add:

All my players with 1:05 starts today have 0's going across the stat line. Like this . .

But only right before their games, right?

It's a 14 team league. Guys like this aren't available.

The "0"'s usually pop up next to a players name 30-45 minutes before the start of a game.

On the Scores page. Click on the boxscore like you would if the game were playing.
OK. The box score wasn't available for the Tigers game a half hour before.
Unfortunatley it varies, but still worth checking; Florida-Washington was posted before noon today.
