I don't think you can count a team "losing" a free agent that has yet to be signed. Many of these players may end up back with their teams so i think you have to deal in the known. Who the team has lost or gained through signings. Blue Onion, here is the Seahawks list:

Re-signings

DE Joe Tafoya =

RB Shaun Alexander =

DL Rocky Bernard =

CB Jimmy Williams =

WR Peter Warrick =

LB Kevin Bentley =

Net gains

DT Russell Davis +

LB Julian Peterson +

OL Tom Ashworth +

S Shaunard Harts +

RB Ran Carthon +

Net losses

TE Ryan Hannam -

WR Joe Jerevicious -

FS Marquand Manuel -

OG Steve Hutchenson -

DL Rodney Baily -

In the wind:

Mack Strong (likely return)

Andre Dyson (unknown)

Jamie Sharper (unlikely return)

Maurice Morris (unlikely return)

Tom Rouen (likely return)

So carolina is first? They lost Will Witherspoon. what are you trying to do here? rank the NFC free agency so far right?

As an Eagles fan...I'm pretty bummed about the NFC moves this year.

Many of the NFC's better teams have, at least on paper, made moves to fill real holes. Dallas getting Vandy and TO, Carolina getting Keyshawn, Seahags getting Jules Pete.

How come you don't count the moves to re-sign a player?

The Bucs brought back Simms, Alstott, Hovan and re-did the contract of Brooks (that could have led to him leaving)...those have to count for something.

On Offense they're looking alot like the '04 Iggles. Small RB's, decent QB and line, marginal (at best) WRs. I don't know how long they're going to believe they can get by just on that Johnson Defense and their WC offensive plan. TO definitely added a different dimension to their O.Considering, as you mentioned, how many teams got at least a step or two better, they definitely look like they took a step back.

This is a good question. However, I think re-signing your own player is a wash. Meaning a team did not 'upgrade' a position from last year, but they also did not downgrade...it is the same player.

I can assure you that if Chris Hovan left, it would be a downgrade. It's the same thing.
