Drafting in a local league next weekend and looking for some advice.
The league is 20 team H2H 6x6 with the usual 5x5 stuff plus errors and holds.
We start 9 hitters with OF broken down into LF/CF/RF. 3 SP, 3 RP and 3 P spots, plus like 8 bench spots so there's some flexibility. Weekly IP min is 14. Daily transactions.
$10 entry fee. There are NO PLAYOFFS. Second place gets the $10 back, first place gets the rest, so there's really no point in trying to finish anything but first. This makes it harder to neglect categories.
I'm leaning towards building a rock-solid, reliable offense with my first 9 picks. Not sure how much emphasis to put on avoiding errors, but I'll at least keep my eye out for DH types that qualify at other positions.
Pitching could be tricky. Want to get a deep, flexible staff with some high upside SP options. Never played in a holds league before and not sure how much weight to give setup men.
Thoughts?
