Home Depot's worst nightmare (1 Viewer)

Quez

There is this black guy around Tampa that usually stands outside of Home Depot's with a sign that says N***** Depot.  Well, someone just sent me this picture,

I can only imagine it is the same person, and he has gone nuclear with his Home Depot protest. I have no idea how or why this began, but it's been several years.  They have talked about it on local radio shows.

There used to be this stenciled van in D.C. detailed and detailing various conspiracy theories parked down by the Mall. We used to read it. It was precise, grammatically correct, syntactically correct, and oh so crazy.

I am not going to look for logic in this matter.

I will say he seems dedicated.  He has clearly spent time and resources in producing the message which is, as nearly as I can tell, ironically, not getting his message out.

This guy:  I won't respond until after Home Depot “has the chance to say their side of the story.”

Home Depot:

Home Depot will never have anything to worry about as long as Lowe's insists on having one or two checkout lines no matter how busy they are and refusing to install self-checkout.

You go to HD, navigating the store is a breeze and you swiftly get the #### out. You go to Lowe's, it's pain to find anything and takes forever to get out. It's really shocking that these two stores are even considered competitors.

Exact opposite of this in my town.

I was wondering if it's different in other places. They weren't too different here until HD put in the self-checkout. Now, getting out of there is really fast, but Lowe's still stuck with the same set-up. And it's been a few years now. Lowe's here opens up new registers with the same urgency that Food Lion does (if unfamiliar, it's a NC/VA grocery store chain that's generally in lower income areas and won't open up a 2nd register until the one register has a line about 15 deep).

Lmao stupid Shaun King. Hate that guy.
Switched to the Post from the Daily News bc of that guy (well mainly, paper is just a race baiting piece of garbage). I really don't like him. I'd like a reasonable civil rights crusader, not a lunatic.

I don't need to read about how everything and everyone is a racist, gets a little repetitive.

He put out about 5 articles about how great Kaepernick was and not a thing about him not voting.

Why does Lowe's have check out aisles that are skinnier than a small country grocery store?  They also put them about 3 feet from the front wall most of the time as well.

Hate the Lowe's.

It must be super regional, also considering Binky's comment re: check out width and space. I am on the west coast. Our HD checkout is fine but there are never enough cashiers.  You can never find an employee to help you, and they generally take twice as long to check out as necessary if properly staffed.

Meanwhile Lowes has attendants in every area, cashiers waiting for you at checkout, and plenty of space.  Just a crapshoot I guess. :)

Lowes is closer to my house to I go there.  They are all the same to me.  I always use the contractor checkout area that usually has more room, so that's never an issue, but I have noticed it.

Never had a problem with Lowe's.  I went in there the other day for some quarter round.  Asked the worker in flooring what aisle they were in and he instantly told me the number .  I walked back out  past him and he politely asked if I needed a cart.  I told him no thanks, but asked him where something else was - instantly knew the aisle number which was far away from flooring.  In and out under 15 minutes with top notch customer service.

I 100% agree about the lines at Lowe's.  They are by far the worst.  Most of the Home Depot's in the Tampa area aren't as nice, because they are generally older stores.  Lowe's didn't get down here until way after them.  Lowes also has the 5% off card.  HD got rid of theirs.  Lowes also sucks for ordering anything ahead of time.  It will take you a half hour to get out of there.  Propane exchanges  can also take 20min at Lowe's.  But generally, I'm still Lowe's before Ho's! (Primarily because location)

My Lowe's has had self checkout for years.

Also, I know exactly where everything is in Lowe's.  I have the same problem you do when I go to HD.  It's just a matter of familiarity.

Same here.  Only self check out open at Depot and Lowes has both self and manned checkout.  Of course I live a driver and pitching wedge from the corporate HQ.
