What you're saying is what I meant. In that, it was calculated/planned that Saul would go before congress and thrash Carrie, have her committed, etc. to setup Carrie's meeting with the Iranian. I don't know if they calculated last week's capture/potential torture, which is why I'm saying it's an interesting twist that Carrie was taken out of her home in the manner that she was. Looking forward to next week.

And I don't think he was surprised at all that she was taken unexpectedly. Nor did he seem nervous for her. He really trusts/believes in her.

Poor Saul always seems so stressed out, then has to walk in to his house to see his wife having dinner with some tool.

No, he was just showing his dominance over her and his oh-so-cool-customer knowledge of American culture.

He will reveal at the start of the interrogation next episode that he thought she was very clever going into a yoga studio, having something arranged with a chick who neither looked a speck like her nor was even wearing the same color, then slipping out the back!!!!!!111 Iranian Dude will definitely be impressed by this awesome tradecraft. And all the while you're wondering why, if he saw through the ridiculous ruse, he isn't more mistrustful of her. And then there will be some other twist, or Saul will come home to his wife doing a Whitesnake-style video shoot on the hood of her car in their driveway with a couple of random dudes, or Dana will be kidnapped or Brody will escape from Caracas and you'll forget that none of the previous episode mattered or made any sense.

Oh, and I bailed on Dexter with only two episodes left. Gonna give Homeland a few more episodes to keep upping its game, but I have no qualms about bailing when a show nosedives as badly as this has.

As dumb as some of that Iranian dudes plot arc is, I still enjoy at least an effort at suspenseful television. The amount of time and effort they put into Dana, only to lead to her moving out with some random chick is mind boggling. Who thought any of that time spent on her was worthy of it? I would have preferred Quin being given a case of the week to solve as the B story to Carrie and Saul.

They botched the end of season 1, by not killing Brody, because they thought they had a star on their hands in Lewis. Flash-forward to season 3 and he's basically absent from the show. Hasn't instilled confidence in the showrunners. But at least it's started to look like they've learned from their mistakes.

They should have killed Brody at the end of season one and then, like American Horror Story, given the cast all new characters and a completely different story in season two. Maybe do a season about an oil refinery, or something set in a hospital....

First one's great, second one's a mess. This one's better than season 2, but nowhere near season 1.

Maybe so but so far his only claim to fame is he stabbed a defenseless prisoner (handcufed too IIRC) in the hand. It was an awesome scene but I honestly can't remember anything else he has done.
