Homeland (1 Viewer)

That Fara gets prettier every week. Holy hell. But how stupid to send her solo to clean up that safe house. And then she basically knows someone has broken in and messed with the stuff and she is barely alarmed.

Not sure I'm going to be able to watch a "Carrie has her meds f'd with" episode.

Damn good episode until they ruined it at the end. Carrie needing retribution for the murder of her 12-year-old lover, to the point where she would obliterate Saul? Okay...
Agree. There are 20 other ways they could have written in Carrie wants revenge for the boy being killed. But to light up Saul, the Ex Director of the CIA is just poor writing.
It wasn't the boy - she was obsessed with killing the terrorist. Saul would have been collateral damage.

Honestly I would have lit up everything
I felt the same way watching it, but mainly because they've set up these terrorists to direct threat to the U.S. If it was OBL I wouldn't have any trouble taking them out with Saul there.

Are you sure about that? Not saying you're wrong... I just interpreted it differently.

she loves saul alot more than that boy. She didnt love the boy at all. Remember when she argued with the beautiful Fara about the boy being collateral damage? Basically she wants to take put terrorists and shes crazy.

That's what she said. Her reaction painted a different picture. When he got shot in the head, you could see immediately she wanted retribution.

I thought about that also that it was all about the terrorists, but then I thought back to just seconds earlier the boy called her and they had their "I love you" conversation. Now you can argue that she was totally lying, but I felt her reaction after the boy wsa shot was revenge. If it wasn't, she would have told the trigger man to light him up right away when he stepped out of the car. But she waited until the boy was shot to give the order.

I could be totally off base, but that is how I understood the scene.

That's how I saw it too. The ensuing fit/rage in the office was a reaction to being outsmarted by the terrorists (frustration), not a reaction of her sense of loss for her new love.

She grew to care about the boy (as much as Carrie can) but she hates those terrorists and was pissed they figured out her plan. After she killed Saul she would regret the decision but in the moment nothing matters to her as much as completing her mission.

Just caught up tonight and am on the ridiculous side that she wanted revenge for the kid being dead. And thought it was pathetic. Whatever way they meant it, absolutely horrible writing. Sorry Saul, but I would've nuked that entire mountainside as soon as he was id'd, Saul would've understood.

Eta: although now that I think about it, they were arming the drone before Saul got out of the truck and she was going to light 'em up with the kid. So yea, probably not meant that she was mad her boy toy took one from Uncle Jihad.

But do we know how "valuable" that guy is/was?

Didn't crazy tell the hot sidekick that he's number 3(I think) on the death list?

Which (I'll just assume) means nothing. Whatever.

I'm pretty the CIA knows more than me but...anybody over the age of 15 knows that you kill one cockroach 20 more are going to show up in their place.

I'm not watching the show anymore but am following this thread still.

Is Brody really still alive? :lmao:
Awww.... it's all like being watched through a drug-induced stupor. Yes, Brody's character appeared in the last episode... but was that in the context of Carrie's dream? Or... I seem to remember in some past season... didn't the 'heads in the Middle East have a body double for Brody from when he was held captive or something?

Ah, ok. That makes sense.

I quit watching after a few episodes into season 3 but I liked Brody, except for the ignorant love story nonsense. I'm guessing it got much worse. The last thing I remember was him in some type of boot camp.

It is pretty amazing how bad this show got after season one.
It was originally written as a 1 season show, where the bomb jacket went off at the end. Fin.

Too bad they didn't have the guts to leave it that way.

If they had done that - it would have been a great 1-season show. (Emphasis on 1-season show). Nobody would remember it now - nor would they still be making money off it.

As it is, people are still talking about the show (and how bad it is), 4 seasons in, so the beancounters are happy.

I know. It's a sad reality but the reality nonetheless.

Hell, I'd have been happier if they made just one character worth rooting for. Writers are even making Quinn into a whinny ##### at times.

And this season the over-the-top preachiness of the show seems more annoying than in past seasons. The concept of the show had great potential, but this group has ####ed it up so bad, its really only train wreck material at this point.

I'll stream it again next week though....

I'm rooting for the terrorists at this point. Terrorist lady is pretty hot too.
