How can Steve Smith NOT be the #1 WR in FF? (1 Viewer)

Here is my case:

One of the most explosive players in the game.

A threat to take it to the house EVERY time he touches the ball.

His coach and QB love him. Clear #1 and gets TONS of targets.

He is not only fast, but extremely tough, can run EVERY route on the field.

Has a fire for this game like no one i can remember. Tonight he was throwing up all night, and still killed it.

Because his team's defense is VERY good, and causes several turn overs, he'll always have lots of scoring opportunities.

Almost NEVER has a bad game.

Team just doesn't have a great running game, and Jake is Farve like that he loves to gamble and take many shots downfield.

Can i get an amen???

that last TD catch won my game for me. 172.67-171.37. Upset the juggernaut of my league despite being without alexander and mcgahee and getting no production out of chris perry and leon washington.

Steve can have my first born as far as im concerned

After tonight's game, he'll be roughly tied with the likes of Roy Williams and Andre Johnson in my league (standard yardage, no ppr), despite having played two fewer games. And consider this-- Smith has scored double-digit points in 6 out of 7 starts, as compared to double-digit points in 4 of 9 starts for the ridiculously over-rated Torry Holt.

Rediculously over-rated? Holt is on pace to have his 7th consecutive 1200 yard season please explain how that's so rediculously over-rated.

30% of his fantasy points have come in one game. Hasn't had a touchdown or 100 yards since Week Six.

OK but 1200 yards the last 6 season this may be the 7th = not over-rated

2 words why not....Jake...Delhomme.
2 more.....Marques Colston.
Put the crack pipe down and realize that Colston is a one year wonder. See Michael Clayton.
Well let's not let the facts get in the way of the truth:Colston 54 Rec. for 869 yds. and 7 TDs

Smith 53 Rec. for 780 yds and 3 TDs
Smith missed 2 games as well.
Correct. Smith has had hamstring issues.

In my league, Smith and Colston are first and second in average points per game for receivers. Smith at 14.9 and Colston at 14.3. Take your pick. Doesn't matter to me-- they both start every week for my team.

But he did have hamstring issues, he did miss 2 games. Bottom line Colston has put up better numbers this year than Smith.

The point is, by year's end, Smith's numbers will surpass Colston's. Including his rushing TD, Smith is not far behind playing 7 games to 9 for Colston :o . Also, operative word is Smith HAD hamstring issues. He's good to go.Smith rivals McNabb for the ability to "relieve" themselves and still perform at an elite level. :yucky: :jawdrop:

Colston looks good. REAL good  . Smith has been on top for a long time, not just 9 games.
