How do i seed these playoff brackets (1 Viewer)

Ok i have a wierd 3 way tie for 2 playoff spots.

My tiebreaker formula is as follows.

Standings Sort Criteria #1: Overall Winning Percentage

Standings Sort Criteria #2: Head to Head Record

Standings Sort Criteria #3: Divisional Winning Percentage

Standings Sort Criteria #4: Total Points Scored

Standings Sort Criteria #5: Reverse Order Of Opponent Total Points Scored

All teams finished with 7-6 overall records.

Will list the teams as team X,Y,Z

Team X split H2H with Team Y and both had the same division wins but Team Y had the most total points.

Team X beat Team Z both times.

Team Z beat Team Y both times.

Team X (7-6) (6-4) 1337.4 Total points.

Team Y (7-6) (6-4) 1468.9 Total points.

Team Z (7-6) (4-6) 1289.8 Total points.

Which 2 teams should advance to the playoffs? Im completely lost here as how to seed this.

If I read correctly, Team X and Team Z are 3-1 H2H vs. the other 2 teams in a 3-way playoff. Team Y is 1-3 H2H. Team X & Team Z move to a 2 team tiebreak. Team X top ranked ( h2h 2-0 vs team z )

Team Z 2nd ranked - start new tiebreak rules with 2 teams ( Z,Y - Z is 2-0 vs Y )

That's how I've applied tiebreaks over multiple teams.

So you use a combined head2head record for breaking a 3way tie.

Thats how the standings reading it out as well.

In the past i used the individual tiebreakers independently of each other but as in this case anyway you slice it someone had a advantage over another team.

I don't think you read that correctly, because X beat Z both times, Z can't be 3-1. But I still have the order the same as you.X is 3-1 vs. Y and Z

Z is 2-2 vs. X and Y

Y is 1-3 vs. X and Z

X should advance due to best head-to-head record among all three tied teams.

Z gets 2nd place due to 2-0 record against Y.

Y gets 3rd place.

Team X 3-1 H2H (2-0 against Z, 1-1 against Y)

Team Z 2-2 H2H (2-0 against Y, 0-2 against X)

Team Y 1-3 H2H (1-1 against X, 0-2 against Y)

Unless you say that H2H is only used fr two team ties, I make X #1 and Z #2.

Hey guys do you know if this is how MFL uses tiebreakers in this situation?

I mean that seems like a logical way if you used combined h2h records to break 3 way ties.

Just want to make sure i get this seeding right. I sent them a email as well.

1st playoff team is Team X. They win the #2 tiebreaker with a 3-1 H2H record (Team Y was 1-3 and Team Z was 2-2).2nd playoff team is team Z. They win the tiebreaker over Team Y whether you restart the tiebreaking procedures after the 1st team is identified or not since they swept Team Y.

Under commissioner setup, go to "automatically seed playoff" and input your sorting criteria. Hit save. The rest should take care of itself.

If you use H-T-H you should add the clause "winning % against all tied teams", so that you can break ties with 3 teams, 2 from one division and 1 from another division that might not play each other the same amount of times.
