How do you feel about Cutler now? (current info on pg 46) (3 Viewers)

well, I won't say how I feel about him, as there are a few sensitive individuals in here that might get upset, so I'll try to be as objective as I can about it.

40 yds, 2 picks, < 3.0 ypa, 16 qb rating

of course, vick will be the one benched for his concussion, while cutler will always be given another chance, with campbell going straight to the bench.

pretty obvious what's going on here.

Watch out, fella... Posts like this will earn you a spot on the IGNORE list from people who are tired of getting :own3d: at every turn!

Even saying they lost last night because Cutler got hurt is a bogus exxuse.
Does anyone know who has the best quarterback rating in the 4th quarter in the NFL this year?Jay Cutler at 135.0

He trails only Peyton Manning in 2nd half QB rating as well. Chicago was down 7 points when Cutler went out. Not saying Jay would have led them to a win, but dismissing Cutler's absence as a bogus excuse is pretty weak.
You might be looking at the wrong splits. Consider these Cutler QB rating numbers, season to date:When Trailing 36.3

Behind by 1-8 Points 35.0

Behind by 9-16 Points 39.4

Last 2 Min. Half 42.1

Remember when some thought Matt Cassel was as good or better than Cutler? Cutler might not be that good, but still. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Not fishing...unlike some here...if I post something, I mean it.Not trying to get you to react...just to explain how what Cutler did in the 4th quarter against Detroit has anything to do with how he may have fared last night in the rain and wind against Houston. And instead of answers...I get excuses claiming I must just be fishing.Pretty typical.
:sigh: The first half of last nights game - just like the various first halfs in other games for Cutler this season (where he also had bad numbers) - is in no way and indication that he would be bad in the 2nd half. In fact, the pattern of bad early, than good late, has become pretty common for Cutler - throughout his career - not just as a Bear. To suggest that a team's starting QB has no bearing on the outcome of the game if had to leave at half time is silly - and you know it. Regardless as to how bad he had been in the first half, Cutler and the offense as a whole (and the defense as well - look at the first half Texan stats compared to the 2nd half) - has shown a propensity to make good half time adjustments and the ability to move the ball more effectively in the 2nd half of games. And Bear fans aren't the only ones to suggest that it would made a difference.
I never suggested a team's starting QB has no bearing on the outcome of the game.

You've admitted to fishing in other threads. Still, I won't hold that against you. I enjoy watching the stinky bait you're tossing out.

yeah, you'd never catch cutler+n throwing a pickyou might want to pick a week where your boy breaks 40 yds for those comments
Not really...there is no measure out there to really say that Cassel is better.
The tape measure says Cassel is better than Cutler by 1 inch in height.

Marshall to the bench, 1st time in a long time. I'll get more out of Denarius Moore and Andre Johnson.
I'm not saying Marshall will have a monster or decent game, but he's earned the do not bench status this season. In points per game he is the #2 WR in my non PPR league. Denarius is 20th and Andre is 43rd. I can understand your decision to bench him, but I wouldn't be able to make it.Jason Campbell played the complete second half with Cutler out. His stats were 11/19 for 94 yards and no TD's/Picks. 9 of those attempts went to Brandon Marshall and resulted in 6/9 for 90 yards. Campbell is a backup, but one of the better backups in the league and Marshall has been a beast. I think BM still gets 80 yards and is a 50/50 coinflip for a TD.

It's not easy but it's all based on the D's. SF is #5 vs pass, Jax is 19th, NO is 32nd. Both Andre (10) and Moore (8) have been getting plenty of a week. Moore should go above 10 vs NO. It's already hard to move the ball vs SF, enter the suck that is Campbell. Yuck.

I don't have the numbers but wasn't Houston ranked in the top 5 before they played the Bears? Marshall still put up triple digit yards witha backup QB for half the game. I don't see why San Francisco would be any different. As for the Jacksonville matchup, the first time Houston met the Jaguars this season Andre Johnson had 4 targets and turned those into 3 receptions for 21 yards.

Schaub threw for less than 200 yards with no TD's.

WR's caught 6 passes for 55 yards.

TE's and RB's had 20 receptions for 140 yards.

Houston ran the ball 48 times for over 200 yards and 3 TD's.

Houston won by 20 while holding MJD to 67 total yards of Jacksonville's 141 total yards.

I agree the match-up is juicy but I don't see how Jacksonville keeps this game withing 20 points. This feels to me like it's going to be an exhibition game for Texas. Play conservative offense, run ball, kill the clock, and try to get out of there healthy. Of course now that I've posted my thoughts Andre will go for 170 and 3 TD's and Marshall will get injured on the first play.

AJ better get his early, if he doesn't and the Texans go up by 3 scores it'll be a long day. That said, I benched Marshall for AJ because of the combination of Campbell and the playing against the 49ers D on the road. I'll take a chance on a guy with his regular QB going up against an inferior D at home and hope he's involved.

this is good posting, Campbell can play a little bit, I wont be benching marshall

Marshall falls back to the level of someone like Bowe. Valuable because of target volume no matter who the QB is, but you're crossing your fingers for garbage time points because this offense won't be making plays down the field with Campbell.

Marshall has still produced well with backup QBs, not even a comparison to Bowe. I doubt there will be much of a drop off for hm.

Check the stats from last year.

A little disappointed to see him lock onto Devin Hester so much. Hester is a great deep threat but he's so far removed from a complete receiver; I think a lot of us started to forget that. Hoping to see him correct that this year, because whereas Brandon Marshall could catch 100+ passes with Cutler locked onto him, Hester would probably catch 60 and the Broncos (and Cutler) would have a far less impressive offense in that situation.
Little did we know...

In my 12 team redraft, he's 27th on a PPG basis (4 pt passing TDs). Just got dropped - and cleared waivers today, nobody wanted him.

Probably my favorite thread after the guppy league one.
The Orton one was good too, but it died out for obvious reasons. Not for certain but I think this was spin-off of that one.
yeah, absolutely.this thread was started to basically mock the other thread, as it kind of annoys me when people rave about some qb's arm, but continually ignore his head.there have been a lot of ####ty qbs with good arms.which is also why I really enjoy it when cutler+n throws for 40 yards with 2 picks.

Just a reminder for those of you who don't have me on ignore, don't listen to my fantasy football or NFL opinions/predictions. I'm utterly clueless.

if he drags another team down to it's watery grave you can make bank it'll be somebody else's fault.

bears better hope they beat 2 of these : GB @ARI @DET

You guys are just sad. NO! Cutler isn't an elite QB. The guy is probably 2nd or 3rd tier depending how you rank them. His OL is one of the worst in the league. Any QB working behind this line would be average at best. He is going to have his awesome games and he is going to have his bad games. He is an above average QB and better than ANYTHING Bears fans have had to root for in the last 20 years. So give it a rest...

Some of you guys are hillarious in here. He threw two picks yesterday - one when his receiver fell down as threw the ball. Fell down. On turf. Indoors. The other was clearly a bad throw - I'll saddle him with that one. Although, why the heck the Bears have their 3rd string RB and call a pass play on 3rd and 1 is beyond me. And all of this behind the worst offensive line in the game and a TE who can't catch. Some of you are Packer fans and complain about Finley's hands  Finley is Gronk compared to Davis. Davis couldn't catch a cold if you left him naked in the snow in medical waste dump surrounded by a pack of rabid dogs in a leper colony.

Keep up the fun work.

His line is worse than az?

Do we get to count the throws that should've been picks but for a lucky break?

The guy put up 7 pts, and gave the other team 7.

Like I said - nothing but excuses.
