How far is too far to wait on QB? (1 Viewer)

OK, here's my question: I'm in a 14-team league where I was fortunate enough to get the No. 2 pick. If trends stay the same, I can expect about 3-4 QBs to be gone before the draft swings back up to me at 2.13, and if I don't take on there or at 3.2, about 9-10 QBs to be gone by the time the draft swings back up to me at 4.13. People draft QBs in this league. I don't know why -- it's normal 4 point TD pass scoring -- but they do.

Could you live with that? Or would you make the ultimate sacrifice and take a QB at 3.2? I hate to do it. But I also hate having a horrible QB all year. It's so disheartening trying to decide which stiff to start each week.

You need to look at QB by Committee. Good option in your league.

What are the scoring rules that makes an entire league draft QB so early?

I suggest you read the drafting with guppies article - if in fact you are 100% sure that that is the way your league is going to draft then getting one at 3.2 should be fine because they will waste the whole third round on quarterback picks and some good RB and WR will be coming back to you.

Do they draft their backup quarterbacks before they draft their other starters? If not what is so bad about drafting the 14th best QB and getting Leinart or Cutler or whomever? You should be way ahead at RB and WR by that time.

That's a great theory, except last year I took Aaron Brooks. That sucked bad. I dunno. I will probably wait and grab what I can inithe 5th ... but I may be starting Jay Cutler all year.

Well Obviously you are going to have to take the right one - or combo if you wait and take two later - I don't mean 5th, maybe 8th & 9th - as I said unless they are already drafting backups you have saftey that way.
