I was reading an old article where one of the UM alums said "If you put together a team made up of guys playing in the NFL who come from the University of Miami, we'd be playing in the Super Bowl this season. And I think we'd win."

Assume that an NFL team had the following starting players. How many games would they win?

Coach: Jimmy Johnson

QB: Ken Dorsey

RB: Clinton Portis

WR: Andre Johnson, Santana Moss, Reggie Wayne

TE: Kellen Winslow Jr

OL: Bryant McKinnie, Vernon Carey, Chris Myers, Eric Winston, Rashad Butler

Assume they use a 3-4 Defense

DE: Jerome McDougle, Calais Campbell (Still at UM)

DT: Vince Wilfork

LB: Jon Beason, Dan Morgan, DJ Williams, Jonathan Wilma

DB: Antrel Rolle, Brandon Meriweather, Ed Reed, Phillip Buchanon

Kick Returner: Devin Hester

Team looks strong at the skill positions, but QB play would kill them. Defensively, I think the secondary could be thrown on. Though it wasn't an option, this felt like a 6 or 7 win team. Get an NFL caliber QB and it jumps to 10-11 W

Once the injuries hit, you'd be hard pressed to win with guys playing both ways. You need more depth (although Ray-Ray makes a nice backup at ILB). Show me a 53 man roster and we'll talk. Also, there's some fat contracts in that list. Who are you convincing to take a pay cut to fit under the cap? Finally, having Dorsey at QB just means all that receiving talent goes to waste. Maybe 2-3 games before the injuries take their toll.

They'd probably beat any other team made of players from the same school, but they'd have a hard time competing with real NFL teams.

I don't think that UM (or any university) would come close to being able to field a 53 man roster of NFL caliber players, thats why I only included starters. Injuries happen, but lets just assume that all the starters remain healthy.
