I'm curious to know with all the man-crushes going on for Bush, how many owners are starting him week 1?

If you don't own him, would you start him? If you wouldn't is it because you have better alternatives or because you don't think he's worthy yet and would like to see a few games.

Let's assume it's standard scoring with NO PPR, but points for receiving yards and special teams TDs

What say you? :banned:

I have full faith.....

... in the Browns to suck it week 1. Im starting Bush as my RB2.

If you got him, chances are you paid a high price for him and have to start him.
Not necessarily. I paid a much higher price in my local "flex league" in the 6th round for Brett Favre (flex spot covers any position player, including QBs) but will likely start Chris Brown (9th round) or Billy Volek (11th round) in his place because of the matchup with the Bears.Yes, you can't judge too much on the previous year (especially given Favre's history of dominance against Chicago), but last year's performance (4 picks at home during Christmas) was so bad, it makes you wonder if anything got better for the Packers.Back to this poll, I'm going with Bush as my #2. I have a few other options (Brown being one of them), but I think if Bush really gets the ball 8-12 times, he'll do something spectacular with at least 1-2 of those carries.

I have him, but behind SJax, McGahee, and Westy (keeper league). If all three are healthy, I am inclined to start them ahead of him. But if any of them is at all questionable due to injury, I won't have much reservation about putting Bush in my lineup.

Interesting that after 55 votes, 80% of you would start Bush week 1.

I thought that the man-crush for him was stronger than that.

Same thinking here. SJax and Lamont Jordan start, but the flex option is between C Taylor, Bush and Mike Bell. Really not sure, might depend on how Bell looks at that point.

He's my RB3 in a dynasty league and I will be starting him. We start:

2QB

3RB

4WR

1TE

1K

1D

Kevin Jones and Frank Gore will likely be the other 2. Yes, I'm light at the RB position.

Must of drafted too high? In my league I got Bush in the third round, behind Lamont and Fitzgerald. Im starting him as RB #2 in a ppr with a ton of optomisim. If he averages 50 rushing, 5 rec and 5 receving, i'll win the league if he score 7-8 tds.

Come on guys, it's the Browns we're talking about. These are the same guys who allowed the top two single game rushing performances of all time.

Reggie should have no problems running all over them.

Why because he is the great Reggie Bush who has never played a down of pro football during the regular season.

Why wouldn't you. The Browns aren't that tough on defense and Bush will probably see a lot of touches the first few weeks to help ease Deuce back into the offense and protect him a bit.

Plus, he is their first round, big money player, the Saints want to trot this guy out there and show him off to everyone.

I agree. I'm starting him #2RB in my PPR league.

Available to me at 3.08 in my 10 team PPR draft so I took him. Starting him with confidence as my RB2 against the Browns.

You get out of here, this thread is only for people who love Reggie. Unless you weren't being sarcastic. In that case all hail The Great Reggie Bush who has never played a down of pro football!

The great Reggie Bush averaged 8.9 yards per carry in college, won the Heisman Trophy, received incredibly high NFL scouting grades and has embarassed defenders with his Barrylike moves in the preseason.I know he's never played a real official regular season game, but c'mon, do you really think there's much chance that this guy won't be really, really good?

Start 2 RBs: no PPR...

I will be starting Bush as my RB2 along w/ C. Williams.

He is currently getting the nod over W. Dunn.

I don't know ask this guy........Archie Mason Griffin (born August 21, 1954) is a former American football running back remembered in sports as college football's lone two-time Heisman trophy winner. Griffin won four Big Ten Conference titles with the Ohio State University Buckeyes and to this day is the only player ever to start in four Rose Bowls.Professional football careerIn the 1976 NFL draft, he was the first-round choice of the Cincinnati Bengals, for whom he played seven seasons (1976-1982). During that time, he rushed for 2,808 yards, averaging 4.1 yards per carry. He also caught 192 passes for 1,607 yards, returned 22 kickoffs for 461 yards, and scored 13 touchdowns (7 rushing, 6 receiving). Griffin played in Super Bowl XVI with the Bengals after the 1981 season. After his career with the Bengals ended, Griffin played briefly with the Jacksonville Bulls of the United States Football League.

Griffin was drafted with the 24th overall pick and averaged a measly 6.1 yards per carry in college. He wasn't supposed to be a great NFL player. Aside from the Heisman Trophy, there's no similarities here.Reggie Bush = Can't Miss.

How about this guy.........A member of Penn State University's 1986 National Championship team, Thomas was an 1989 All-American and a two-year starter for head coach Joe Paterno. He finished second on the Nittany Lions’s all-time rushing list with 3,301 yards and 21 touchdowns, just 97 yards shy of the Penn State record set by Curt Warner. He was also the first player in school history to rush for more than 1,400 yards in two seasons (1987,1989). A 1989 Heisman Trophy runner up behind University of Houston quarterback Andre Ware. Thomas was the Most Valuable Player of the 1989 Holiday Bowl, setting a record with 35 carries for 186 yards. He was also the Most Valuable Player of the Senior Bowl.He earned his Bachelor of Science in recreation and parks management at Penn State University in 1989.Selected by the New York Jets in the first round (#2 overall) of the 1990 NFL draft,Thomas' NFL playing career that spanned six seasons. Despite leading NFL rookies in yards-per-carry and AFC rookies in total yardage, he is widely considered another in a long line of Jets draft disappointments. Thomas rushed for only 2,000 yards and 5 touchdowns in his 4 seasons with the Jets.He suffered a series of nagging injuries beginning in 1992 and was released by the Jets following the 1993 season. He began the 1994 season with the New England Patriots, but finished it with the Dallas Cowboys. He concluded his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers in 1995

Archie Griffin is not at all analagous to Reggie Bush. Griffin did not grade out well as a pro, and in fact was the seventh RB selected in 1976, behind such luminaries as Bubba Bean and Lawrence Gaines. The first RB selected that year was Chuck Muncie. Go Bears!Bush's hype doesn't come from the fact that he won the Heisman; it comes from the fact that virtually every person who scouts football talent for a living considers him the best prospect to come out of college since Tomlinson. Scouts are never going to be able to predict everything, but they're pretty good with RBs (Tomlinson and Faulk being two recent examples).

The point of my posts are before you annoit him a sure thing let the kid play some pro football. At this point anything short of greatness and he will be listed a bust. It could happen.

The question is not whether he will be great. The question is whether you should start him in week 1 of 2006. Tomlinson put up 125 yards and 2 TDs in his first game.

I got him as my RB#3 in an 8-team league. We can only start 2 RB's, so I'm sitting him behind Tiki Barber & Ronnie Brown.

Not that a lot of comparisons can be made 5 years later, but....Tomlinson's game was against Washington... but in week 4 he faced the Browns and put 102 yards rushing and a TD.

I own him in 4 dynasty leagues, and will be starting him in 4 dynasty leagues. He is my #3 RB/Flex in most of those leagues. My leagues are 1 pt per reception, so i'm counting on 20+ points!! :)
