Savage did not sound enthusiastic about taking a running back with the third overall pick of the first round of next month's draft. Ironically, the personal workouts of Auburn's highly-rated tandem of Ronnie Brown and Cornell (Cadillac) Williams were held on Monday. The Browns were represented there by Bill Rees, player personnel director, and Rip Scherer, quarterbacks coach. Scherer was on hand to observe the workout of quarterback Jason Campbell, who is garnering much interest from the Browns.Savage said the loss of Taylor doesn't force the Browns to use a high pick on a back. "It certainly is a position we'll have to continue to try and address" he said. "I think after our next series of meetings on April 4, we'll have a better handle on that first pick and also what are the combinations of players as we go through Rounds 1, 2 and 3 . . . what combination of those guys works best for who we take at No. 3."
