How much does Aromashodu play with Hester back? (1 Viewer)

Does Aromashodu take a hit with Hester back? They play the same position. Will this be a case of splitting the snaps?

I'm also very interested in this since I have Hester and may want to go in a different direction. My guess is that both Devins will have a big game with Knox out.

key there, should be plenty of snaps for Aromashodu - he really has Cutler's eye and their timing is on point. I would definitely play him.

Sigmund, don't ya think Da Bears are little curious about this new talent in Aromashodu? Ya think they might want to see what they might have for next year? Cutler seems like he likes this guy? I'm starting him, but I must admit I am tempering my excitement with the return of Hester.

Anyone else have any more insights here? Great matchup against the Lions. :blackdot:

how about Earl Bennett? Anyone think he'll get his normal amount of snaps with Hester back or split some with Aromashodu?

He'll likely stay in the slot, I would expect him to be 4th in the pecking order behind the Devins and Olsen. Still a decent play in return yards leagues as he continues to get better on punt returns.

Bloom...With Hester coming back does this change your projects at all?

Sunday morning rankings seem to be identical to yesterday. I'm surprised Buffalo's defense is ranked 29 at home in freezing temps against Indy's 3rd team QB and a team that doesn't care if they win. Hester has been ranked WR 65 since Wednesday.

Aromoshadu is the only player Cutler has been comfortable with this season, if he sees snaps he'll see targets, and with Knox out he will get those snaps.

Expect a big game from Aromoshadu, Hester's riskier as he may be rusty coming off injury but...this is the Lions.

As far as next year goes I don't think anyone knows what this wide receiver corps will look like and who will be the featured guys. At one time or another all of their WRs have produced. Aroshmodu is just the latest. Knox and Bennett both had their moments too this season.Let's look at season targets and yards/target:Hester: 87 targets, 54 receptions, for a 62% catch rate and 682 yards yields a 7.8 yards/target.Bennett: 82 targets, 51 receptions, for a 62% catch rate and 690 yards yields a 8.4 yards/target.Knox: 80 targets, 45 receptions, for a 56% catch rate and 527 yards yields a 6.58 yards/target.Aromashodu: 35 targets, for a 54% catch rate and 252 yards yields a 7.2 yards/target.Bennett has performed the best by these measures but is the least valued because he is less flashy and I think because people were negative about him to begin with because of his bad rookie year.It isn't just that he is catching short passes and the other guys are running long routes either; look at yards/catch.Bennet: 13.5 ypcKnox: 11.7 ypcAromoshodu: 13.3Hester: 12.0Aromoshodu has been getting targeted the most over the last three games so he is the latest darling of the fantasy world but I don't see how anyone can really predict which of the three young WRs (and let's not forget Iglesias) could be the player to own next season. Of the four who have seen significant action Aromoshodu has been involved for only a small portion of the season so I think you have to be careful about drawing conclusions--35 targets is a small sample size.

Cutler is coming off his best game of 2009 -- a 273-yard, four-TD effort won on an overtime bomb to new favorite receiver Devin Aromashodu...However, Devin Hester's (calf) status has a major impact on Aromashodu's role. Aromashodu will not be a part of the Bears' base offense if Hester returns to retake his starting job.

Earl Bennett is the only lock to be an every-down receiver for the Bears because Johnny Knox (ankle) is out. Aromashodu is strictly a flanker, while Bennett and Knox are split ends. Bennett also plays in the slot in three-wide sets...Without the deep threat Knox, Chicago's game plan will likely involve more underneath plays, which would be good news for Greg Olsen

What ever happened to Juaquin Iglesias, he is still on the team, but has been inactive EVERY week of the season. Is he going to be a part of the team next season or a forgotten 3rd round draft pick??

He shouldn't have ever been that early of a pick.Define, mediocrity.

Heard earlier this year that he had looked beyond terrible in camp and early season practices. Only made the team because of where he was drafted. Heard that his work ethic was terrible as well.

The Bears should get whatever they can for Hester and be done with him and his salary. The only reason Hester is on the field instead of DA is the salary and the perceived "investment" they have made in converting him into a Wide Receiver. That investment has yielded nothing in the way of receiving performance that a seventh round bounce-around (DA) couldn't yield, and worse, it has taken Hester away from returning. The Bears are now throwing good money after bad. I was genuinely offended to read the following:

"Since my first day here, I haven't touched a single weight with my legs," Hester said. "I just want to build myself back up."

"Back up" to what?

He's 27 years old, has 125 CAREER receptions, and is a spoiled, lazy flash-in-the-pan.

Earl Bennett has made a lot of tough over the middle, possession type catches. He's 22, steady, and could be your classic possession receiver for a long, long time. I think it's funny to hear people describe his rookie season as bad. He was 21 and the Bears made him learn all three WR positions. For a 22 year old, he's looked pretty good out there this year. For his age, he was very productive and solid.

Johnny Knox could be quite good in the slot, but lacks physicality to play where he has been playing. Again, this is like eating your young to identify his weaknesses as a 22 year old. He is not a veteran, shows a lot of promise, is quick, and could be a good slot receiver in future years.

Devin Aromashodu is tall and fast and could turn into something. Of the players on the roster, he has the best combination of size and speed to possibly turn into a true number 1 receiver. I would play him all day today and play Hester in the slot.

If they convert soldier field to turf next year, as discussed, get a new coordinator, as projected, and play with DA, EB and JK next year, it could turn into a really interesting receiving corps over the next few years.

None of these guys are veteran receivers, and the crazy part is that one of the old ones (Hester) is one of the least polished.

I still see big things for Aromashodu, modest production for Hester, Bennett, solid game for Olsen.

I'm still confused to why Hester is still used as a WR. How are you going to take one of, if not the most dangerous, prolific returners the universe has ever seen, and put him where he is below average?

Lovie Smith should be fired for this decision alone.

Thanks for the info, I had not heard much about him since pre-season and just kept seeing him on the inactive list each week. Sounds like they probably will drop him next season if he doesn't have a quick turn around next year.
