How soon is too soon to write off... (1 Viewer)

Thought things would be a bit different this year, but whether Kendricks has figured out his drop issues or not, he's simply not being used. Considering how effective the Rams' passing game has been, the fact that Kendricks has been an afterthought, I think, is telling. What's unusual is it seems he's being used more as a blocker, which is not really what he was designed for. Either way, it certainly doesn't help his fantasy outlook under the moustache regime.

I'm almost at the conclusion that, even in dynasty leagues this guy isn't going anywhere and shouldn't be held anymore. Is it too early to write this guy off, or is there some reason I should hang on a bit longer?

I think this thread should be taking the angle of when is a good time to look at adding Kendricks. The answer would be once he shows something.

That time has passed months ago.
I wouldn't say that, necessarily. There was plenty of optimism going into the season that the Rams' offense would turn things around, Bradford would bounce back and maybe the TE would be used more due to some coaching changes. There were many reasons to believe Kendricks could turn into something.

We're talking dynasty perspective here. He's only in his 2nd year and I know a lot of folks, myself included, who wait 2-3 years for drafted rookies to develop.

You can get away with having hands like feet if you're a Brandon Marshall. If you're a Lance Kendricks, you need to be able to catch. He can't. I was cautiously optimistic in preseason, but feeling like this ship has sailed.

Am I missing something? He has 4 targets and 4 catches.

I think so as well. With so many decent TE options, is it really necessary to hold Kendricks? I see very little chance he ever becomes an elite TE so I'd be content to cut my loss and move on to another TE that has a higher ceiling.

The pass blocking clearly has to do with the OL being in shambles. This reminds me much of Celek last year, where PHI was waiting for their OL to get healthy and asked Celek to block much more up until mid October. STL currently has back ups at every position on the OL aside from RG going into their 3rd week. Maybe somewhere down the line this new set of lineman gel but until then Kendricks will probably be doing a #### ton of blocking.
