How Will CJ3 Perform on a Slick Track? (1 Viewer)

Appears to be a 50% chance of showers in CIN for Sunday. I'm guzzling the CJ3 kool-aide and currently have him in my lineup over Lynch (also starting Portis). However, I'm wondering if a wet field might limit the Tennesse Torch. Part of CJ3's unbelievable talent is his ability to make insane cuts while accelerating - I'm a little concerned he might lose some of his elusiveness/effectiveness on a wet track. However, I'm feeling a little better after reading the following description of Paul Brown Stadium's surface from the Bengal website:

"The Bengals began play at Paul Brown Stadium in 2004 on a new FieldTurf playing surface. FieldTurf's surface looks, feels and plays like natural grass. It offers a consistent playing surface regardless of the weather conditions. The loose-fiber system is safer for players than previous synthetic surfaces. Shoes do not stick, and the softer surface minimizes compression injuries. FieldTurf's patented "infill system" replicates natural soil, and is comprised of a mixture of sand and recycled rubber."

Any cause for concern here?

I would think the defenders have to deal with the wet conditions too. :football:

True enuf...but I still think that a major part of CJ3's game is based on sure footing - probably more than most. If he can't cut, I can possibly envision a lowering of expectations.

We should ditch the CJ# thing?Chad JohnsonCalvin JohnsonChris JohnsonChad JacksonSRSLY
QFT. Can we please use players names instead of dumb abbreviations like CJ3 that have not yet caught on? I really have no idea who you're talking about. I'm guessing Atlanta Braves pitcher Chuck James.

With EA and MR blocking, CJ3 should be able to run right though RG, KR, and DJ. It's going to be awesome and since I am starting CJ3 I will win my matchup this weekend and then I can talk mad trash to AM (my opponent this week)

That'd be a less than excellent guess. I've heard him called Light Blue Jesus which seems a little cheap until you turn it into the LBJ acronym which isn't too bad. Either way, the reality is that there are multiple CJs in the league and having a distinct nickname makes it easier to discuss them in the quick, hurried, text message world we live in.LBJ for President!

LBJ = that black guy from basketball?

CJ3 = ????? USE FULL NAMES
It's LBJ :bs: And I'm not worried about some rain in CIN. Wet conditions would only lead to even LESS passing, so more opps. I'll be more interested to see how Collins performs in the starter role. If he can minimize the bonehead picks, TN should perform better on O.
What the hell is LJBFS or whatever you said. I agree drop the nicknames. Learn to spell or use spell check.

Wow...some really useful info in this thread. Kindly allow me to rephrase: Does anyone think that CHRIS JOHNSON, RB TEN might be hindered at all by a wet field? Grazie....

Chad Johnson = Ocho Cinco (or some variation of)

Calvin Johnson = Megatron

Chris Johnson = CJ or Light Blue Jesus

Chad Jackson = Chad at your local Wendy's.

Chad Johnson = COC (self-explanatory)Calvin Johnson = CJ (there can be only one)Chris Johnson = LBJ (Light Blue Jesus)Chad Jackson = FA (permanently)there will be no storms, LBJ will say "Peace, be still."

The thread could have ended with the initial reply you received. The defense has to deal with the conditions also. When Johnson goes to cut, anyone trying to get an angle on him will go ### over tea kettle. If anything, I would think bad weather helps him. Nothing to see here. If you would have started him on a glorious day, start him in the rain.

Agree. Usually bad weather is better for an offense than a defense. QB #s go a little erratic, but not as bad as on a windy day.Besides, looks like Ike will be giving 1/2 of the games this week a li'l som'in. Do you have better options playing in better weather? Then you're a FFB God, or your WRs suck.
