This weekend will be the first time that McNabb returns to Philly as a Redskin. How will Eagles fans treat/greet him? Will they cheer him or will they boo him during his introduction?

Knowing Eagle fans they'll probably boo him. Why they'd boo is beyond me, but I expect there to be a fair amount of boos.

Were I going I'd cheer him loudly and proudly. And I'd hope he throws for 400 yards, four TDs and no picks, but that the Eagles won 31-28.

Its going to be about 80/20 cheering to booing. The booers will try to be loud and obnoxious but a majority will cheer him.

It's Philly. They booed Santa Claus. They booed Palin (although justified). They like to boo, and they'll do it again.

the guy is going to get a long standing ovation pregame - McNabb was a great part of our last decade or so - that being said come game time i'd certainly not expect philly to root for washington - end of story

Worst fans on the planet IMO. Who boos santa?
I was wondering how long it would take for you sheep to bring up the 1968 incident of booing Santa. Anyone who thinks Philly fans are the worst are mindless sheep that follow the anti Philly fan agenda propogated by the media.Wasn't there an incident in Chicago on Monday night after the game with a fan and a Packer? I believe he spit on Nick Collins and used a racial slur. I guess it could have been an Eagles fan in Chicago who did this but probably not. I missed the thread on that incident...hmmm.Bunch of sheep.....

:lmao: Its amazing how its just an after thought by these idiots in the media (and mindless dolts who want to be clever) will just say "They booed Santa." The santa they booed was a drunken, SKINNY hobo who was being a disgraceful Santa. Thats why they booed him. No one ever really cares about that part though.

I heard it was an ethnic slur, and being a Chicago fan he got it wrong, Nick Collins is not of Irish/Polish extraction. As for the spitting, most Chicago fans have severe drooling issues. I would not read too much into that, just stand clear of them when they talk or wear a poncho and googles. This whole thing is the press blowing something up to sell a few newspapers, in Green Bay of course since Chicagoans can't read.

Yes, the Santa incident happened a long time ago but it was only one of many incidents in Philly sports. You guys have had a bad reputation for a long time and you've had many chances to clear up your rep, but haven't. All cities have their incidents, but Philly fans keep doing stupid things. I don't know, I've never been at a Philly sporting event, but you just keep hearing the stories. Here's a Sports Illustrated article from 1999, long before the "media' began propogating the myth.

This was on ESPN last year and they interviewed Santa. He was not a hobo and he said that he wasn't drunk. He was just some 20 year old kid they picked out of the crowd because he was wearing a Santa outfit.

I've never seen a Philly fan jump on the field and attack a coach.

As I said, every city has had their bad moments but don't try to deny your reputation. Theres a reason you guys have a bad rep. Yes, Chicago has had several bad individuals do stupid things, every city does, but how many times do Philly fans do something stupid as a group? How many times have snowballs, batteries, vegetables, etc. been thrown onto the field on players, coaches, and umpires? I mean, who brings batteries and vegetables to games? Who cheers an injured player who lays motionless on the filed for 20 minutes? Sorry, your reputation is well documented and deserved. We can do this all day so let's not go there and not change the subject of this thread/poll.

OMG VEGETABLES!!!!1!!

I'll take that over assaulting one of your own players, jumping the other team's coach, and the cardinal sin of wasting beer. And despite Philly's "reputation", at least we never caused one of our teams to have to

. Yes, Philly has it's share of isuues, but seriously, as mentioned already, Chicago just had an incident two days ago. You classy fans might be wise to just sit this one out.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Or the fact that Bartman basically had to leave his home town and disassociate himself with the team he loves because of the numerous lovable Chicago fans that literally want to kill him.

me and my friends had cups of urine and batteries pelted at them. We had to be moved to a front row spot so the cops could watch out for them. The 2 live stews went to Philly for a playoff game. These are two guys who played college football, and one of em was a pro player. They said they were scared for their lives. I have been 'talked #### to' but only in Philly, and to a much lesser extent yankee stadium in the bleachers, did I ever feel 'unsafe;'. Mind you I have roadtripped to many nfl arenas, and usually the opposing fans are not violently hostile. That is NOT the case in philly.

How many stadiums have had to put in a court and jail in the stadium?

Several stadiums have a holding cell. Philly wasn't even the first, if I remember right. You know Jacksonville has a jail?"About half of all NFL arenas are now prison-equipped. In-house jails come standard at the stadiums managed by SMG, one of the world's largest public facilities management companies. "

Philly fans have the worst reputation in the opinions of most opposing teams' players and fans. I've witnessed it first-hand during Pens/Flyers games. Of course, Flyers fans have the whole "Broad Street Bully" moniker going on, so I guess they have a reputation to live up to.

EVERY stadium has a detention area for rowdy fans, including the Vet back before the Linc. The media tells you there is a "jail in the philly stadium because of all the crazy fans" and you sheep just buy into it! EVERY stadium...EVERY STADIUM has an area to hold rowdy fans. The media calls it a JAIL because it helps make their negative story about Philly better. Think for yourselves...

Well for starters you may help your cause by NOT calling everyone else "sheep"..................

Here are just a few incidents from other cities that no one talks about....all of which are MUCH worse than booing Santa:

* August 26, 1986: A knife with a five-inch blade was thrown at rookie Wally Joyner of the California Angels after beating the Yankees. Joyner was grazed on the left arm but was not seriously harmed.

* September 24, 1999: A fan jumped out of the stands and tackled Astros right fielder Bill Spiers in the bottom of the sixth inning. Spiers had a welt under his left eye, a bloody nose and whiplash.

* November 24, 1999: Broncos fans throw snowballs with batteries in them at Raiders.

* May 16, 2000: Backup Dodgers catcher Chad Kreuter was hit in the head by a fan, who also stole his cap. Kreuter and several Dodgers went into the stands and a brawl followed.

* August 29, 2002: In the Majors' final game before the strike deadline, fans threw foul balls back onto the field and chanted "Don't Strike! Don't Strike!'' as the Anaheim Angels beat the Tampa Bay Devil Rays 6-1.

* September 19, 2002: Kansas City coach Tom Gamboa was attacked by a father and son who came out of the stands at the same stadium, then called Comiskey Park.

* April 15, 2003: A fan ran on the field at U.S. Cellular Field and attempted to tackle an umpire during a game between the White Sox and visiting Kansas City.

* April 19, 2003: Texas Rangers right fielder Carl Everett was beaned in the back of the head with a cell phone in Oakland.

* April 24, 2003: A fan was charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct for throwing a cell phone, which hit San Diego Padres third baseman Sean Burroughs, during a Chicago Cubs game.

* April --, 2003: A fan almost bit off a police officer's pinkie finger when the officer tried to help Coliseum security break up an argument between fans.

* June 10, 2003: One Orioles fan threw cork at Sosa from the stands and another ran onto the field throwing cork at him.

* July 8, 2003: An 8-year-old boy at the Oakland Athletics' game against Tampa Bay had burns on one of his legs when another fan tossed a cherry bomb from the upper deck of the Coliseum.

* September 20, 2003: A Giants fan in the Dodger Stadium parking lot shot a Dodgers fan. "Apparently we have multiple suspects who are Giants fans who got into an argument with a Dodger fan," Officer Adriana Sanchez, a police spokeswoman said.

* December 24, 2003: Two fans at an Islanders game, dressed up as Santa Claus due to a promotion which invited fans to dress up as Santa Claus for free admission to the game against the Philadelphia Flyers, were permitted to parade across the ice between periods, along with the almost one thousand other Santa-fans. The two removed their red jackets to reveal jerseys of the rival Rangers, and were knocked to the ice and had their shirts ripped off by Islanders fans.

* September 11, 2005: Baltimore Ravens fans cheer quarterback Kyle Boller reeling in pain due to a hyper-extended left toe, after being tackled by Larry Triplett.

* September 15, 2005: Ohio State tight end Ryan Hamby received hate letters since dropping a sure touchdown pass during the Buckeyes' loss to Texas.

* September 22, 2005: Several Giants fans spewed New Orleans Saints fans with taunts about Hurricane Katrina during a game at Giants Stadium. "Where's your swimmies? I hope you have your swimmies!" one fan asked a New Orleans resident. "You deserve what you got," another said. "New Orleans people are stupid."

* October 16, 2005: Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Tommy Maddox fumbled a snap, threw three interceptions, including one in overtime that was returned for a touchdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Fans subsequently threw trash on his lawn.

* October 25, 2005: Houston Astro Craig Biggio's wife Patty was slapped by a White Sox fan after Scott Podsednik hit a game-winning homerun.

* March 22, 2006: Philadelphia Flyer R.J. Umberger was hit from behind and spent considerable time on the ice before getting to his feet and skating off under his own power while being booed by New York Rangers fans.

I am a Philly fan and NEVER rip other teams fan base because it's usually just a small percentage of crazy individuals who are responsible for these antics, but the sports media has an obvious agenda to paint ALL Philly fans in a negative light as they continue to bring up the Santa incident from 1968 when they could reference any of the above incidents for a variety of other cities. Lastly, there were 50+ incidents of fans running onto the field of play during a major league baseball game in 2010...the only two you hear about are the incidents in Phillt with the guy in red who Matt Diaz took down and the dude who got tasered. Not a peep about the other 48+......tell me there's no Phill fan bias in the media....

When your response is "typical Philly fans" and then you site something that happened in Philly, then you're sheep. Anyone who believes that these things ONLY happen in Philly are sheep. Anyone who continues to reference incidents from the 60's in stadiums that are now defunct are sheep. When you stop jumping on the media anti-Philly fan bandwagon and stop regurgitating their stale outdated rhetoric then you won't be a sheep anymore....

Maybe it's a Pennsylvania thing.

This poll really only needed the first two options. They booed him when he was an Eagle, they sure as hell will boo him more as a Redskin.
