Huffington Post Columnist: Trump Supporters ‘Deserve To Die’ (1 Viewer)

One person's opinion does not make it so. She's not progressive. I don't care what Marco Moutsilasias says.
This is just silly.  Clinton ran as a progressive, her voting record as Senator from NY was decidedly progressive, and the policy proposals she support for decades have been progressive.

Stop lying.

There was one progressive in the race and it was not her. This is a decades long progressive? She adopted progressive positions when it was politically expedient to do so, not a single minute before.

Why did Sanders wait until 2009 to come out in favor of gay marriage?

And yeah, it's stupid to point at one issue that Hillary is right on and suggest she's not progressive because she didn't get there soon enough.  The most thorough analysis I've seen on Hillary's positions over the years is at Ontheissues.com.  They rate Hillary as a "hard core liberal" based on analysis of what seems like over a thousand data points.  http://www.ontheissues.org/Hillary_Clinton.htm

Sometimes we get a reasonable Higgs, and usually we get this Higgs.

Higgs, most of the country hates Trump.  There are going to be some stupid, hateful art and articles written about him.

Just like we had to deal with all the "Hussain" and racist depictions of Obama, you're going to have to deal with this.

boohoo
We haven't seen a reasonable Higgs since he came back from the hospital. Before that, and under General Tso, it wasn't all middle school insults and rolling smileys - there was at least was an occasional attempt at some serious discussion. Now it just all condescending lectures, name calling and ridicule.
The racist, trolling Higgs you see is the one you're going to get.  Foolish to expect anything different from that clown.

Don't fall for the muddying of the waters Hillary's people attempted during the primaries. He opposed DOMA 20 years ago. The guy was marching in gay pride parades in vermont when he was a mayor. From the get-go he's been a champion for equal and civil rights for all and that can not be disputed.

Again, why didn't Sanders public ally support gay marriage until 2009?  Hell, I've been vocal on these boards supporting gay marriage long before then.  Am I more progressive than Sanders?

Wait, we're freaking out over a week old ####ty article in here?
A week old article that was pulled by HuffPo following complaints, but Higgs and friends are still outraged that it was published at all (as if Breitbart or Fox never made any mistakes)

You're attempting to create a false equivalency here and I will not be a part of it. You know damn well what the differences were in their positions.

So why is the writer "disgusting"?
for starters, statements like this:

Granted that cesspool of a state Florida is long overdue for a disaster to sink it into the ocean
that's 20 million people he'd like to see die.

But a pretty significant number of these people aren’t only ignorant, they’re proud of it. They revel in it. They want you to know how much they hate immigrants and Blacks and Jews and gays and women and trans people in public bathrooms. They want to gloat that this is “Trump’s America” now while wearing a Pepe the Frog t-shirt and that they can’t wait to see you deported or dead. They want to call you a “” to your face and dare you to do something about it. I’m supposed to give a #### that these people were “suffering” or “disenfranchised” or “left behind” by the system? Girl bye
wrong, wrong and of course the added sneering at the end is laughable.

So sorry not sorry, but the ones who actually deserve to have a nuke dropped on them first are the ones who voted to get us all into this mess.
sneering and wishing death on others.  Nice guy.  Sure seems full of himself.

The world really wouldn’t miss them one itty bitty damn bit. If a bunch of these hypocrites who chanted “lock her up” overdose on Oxy and decimate their Podunk towns, honestly, the human species will be better off without them.
I wish he was my neighbor, I'd have him in tears within a week.

These are the people who deserve to have their towns annihilated.
uggh.

Thanks for trying, but if this idiot couldn't see all this before your post, I doubt he sees it afterward.  In his eyes hate speech is only hate speech if it is directed at people who share his political beliefs.  When it goes in the other direction it is justified.  This is what you get when unstable and overly emotional adults take part in politics.

Hillary was a centrist with regard to international trade, Wall Street, and military involvement. She was a liberal on nearly everything else. But even with regard to the first 3 issues she was only a centrist in comparison to Bernie Sanders and Liz Warren, not in comparison to Obama.

Please stop with the name calling and insulting characterizations of those you disagree with. It is not following the guidelines of being excellent to one another and is getting tiresome.

She was a liberal on some things because she magically became one just in time for the 2016 election cycle. In 2008 she portrayed herself as Annie Oakley on the gun issue. “You know, my dad took me out behind the cottage that my grandfather built on a little lake called Lake Winola outside of Scranton and taught me how to shoot when I was a little girl,” she said on the campaign trail, adding, “Some people now continue to teach their children and their grandchildren. It’s part of culture. It’s part of a way of life. People enjoy hunting and shooting because it’s an important part of who they are, not because they are bitter.” In 2016 she was suddenly in favor of executive action to limit guns. That's just one example. When she runs again in 2020, and you know she will, who knows what her positions will be. For sure she doesn't know yet.

Tanner isn't an idiot, he's quite smart. We disagree on politics but who cares.

The part about Florida is out of line for sure.  The rest?  A little harsh but not disgusting.

I think the main point is that if there is WWIII thanks to morons voting for a moron then said morons should be the ones to die.

Another recent example of shoddy oversight at the HuffPost - this time a fake blogger allowed to publish an article arguing that white people shouldnt be allowed to vote.  http://www.theblaze.com/news/2017/04/18/huffington-post-forced-to-issue-retraction-after-they-get-trolled-by-fake-person/
Looks like the HuffPost editor resigned.  Turns out a black person CAN be racist.  In South Africa at least.    http://www.breitbart.com/tech/2017/04/22/huffpo-south-africa-editor-resgins-ombudsman-condemns-overt-racism-blog-post/

Labeling more than half the country morons doesn't strengthen the overall argument. I mean the same argument can be made in reverse when Democrat constituencies vote against their own interests just because a (D) is running

Sorry but voting for Trump is not even in the same ballpark as voting D or R automatically.

Not to mention that Democratic constituencies never vote against their own interests when they cast their ballot for the candidate with the (D) next to the name.

Of course it is. Trump had low scores on likability and trustworthiness yet still beat Clinton, who had worse scores than Trump. Alot of people held their nose and pulled the lever for Trump. Maybe if the Dems had run anyone but Clinton, they'd have won. But they didn't and they have no one to blame but themselves

What about Sanders record on guns?  Do you call him a fake liberal as well due to his 2005 vote in favor of giving gun manufacturers immunity?

Do you realize how stupid it is to ignore the entirety of a politicians career and instead question their ideological integrity due to a couple anecdotal votes/positions from years/decades ago?

It's not a couple though, it's virtually everything. She was changing positions on the fly during this last campaign. One of the reasons she lost was because people didn't really know where she stood on most issues. Jon Stewart nailed it last year.

But it's not "virtually everything".  When her positions/votes/public statements are thoroughly analyzed and scored, she rates as a "hard core liberal".

You're free to not like Hillary, or to argue that she any number of personal flaws that you find objectionable.  This narrative that Hillary isn't liberal just does not stand up to scrutiny.

Sure it does. You can't say she's liberal because she doesn't know either. Her positions changed on the fly during this last campaign. Why do you think that happened?

Back to the original point, it's completely ridiculous to say "I'm a progressive and that's why I support Hillary". I stand by that. The woman was not a progressive candidate. Who knows what she'll be in 2020 but what we do know is she'll be for whatever her polling indicates she should be for.

If there is a nuclear attack on the US, and thousands (or millions) of people die... is it not true that those who voted for Trump are partly responsible for that happening?
