I need to pick up a defense.

Carson Steele
Charbonet (I currently have him starting with Walker on my bench)
Jameson Williams
Shakir
Bucky Irving

I could start Irving this week and drop Charbonet but totally unsure.

How many points do defenses generally score in your league? In my league it's like 2-6 points. Might get one of those crazy games like we got from Green Bay last week that scores 20, but generally they don't score much. Which defense is your opponent playing this week against you? What's your record? What is the makeup of the rest of your roster, how many teams are in your league?

I just wonder if you can get away with playing without a defense if you feel like you just cant part with one of those guys. Because, yea, depending on your league those are guys that could be very valuable and can get scooped up quickly if dropped. I know any and every point counts and could make a difference, but just spit-balling.

Bucky is banged up with a hammy. He says hes playing but that could limit things for him this week and they still are using White. I can't drop Bucky as he's been earning more touches each week.

Walker looks to be missing practice again so Charbs is probably starting again. Don't drop Charbs.

Do you have a 2nd TE or 2nd QB you could drop instead?

Can you do a 2 for 1 deal? Would have to be completed pretty quick though and likely don't get max value but maybe you can upgrade Shakir or Jamo to a bigger WR if you packaged up Bucky to the WHite owner? Or maybe Steele + Shakir/Jamo to the Pacheco owner.

Likely any guy you drop gets picked up. With Hunt being activated the KC backfield looks to possibly be a 3-headed monster. Charbs and Irving have clear paths to the starting role.

I lean dropping Steele but it doesn't feel good. Then Shakir. Shakir will have some big boom weeks but also weeks where he doesn't get as many targets.

I would have to guess there is something like a second QB or TE that would be better to drop than any of these choices. In addition, how much do kickers and/or defenses score? I have played many a week with no kicker because they don't score enough to make a difference (typically).

If those are the only options…. Steele. He will get you points but if they didn’t take advantage of it last week it’s probably not gonna happen for him. He already knew the offense and was already playing. It seemed like he just continued the same role with a little extra.
