Hey guys,
not sure if this is the appropriate place for this, so if I posted in the wrong place, mods, please move this.
I play in a no-pay, bragging-rights league with a bunch of my friends. I played the commish this weekend. He was starting Roydell Williams. I checked his lineup while the games were going on and had to laugh when Williams only caught one pass near the end of the game. I was up 19 points going into tonight's game. Later that evening, I noticed I was only up 8??? Here, miraculously, Shaun McDonald appeared in his lineup giving him 12 points. He also complained in his "smack talk" that I was lucky because Steve Smith only got him 3 points. 5 minutes later, that message disappeared. Although he is a friend, I wouldn't put it past him to cheat if he could get away with it.
I decided not to say anything until today. You know, let his conscious work at him, and maybe he would change it back again. Nothings changed, nor has he posted any "ha, ha, look what the commish can do!" excuses either. So I spoke up on the message board for all to see. Basically, without saying his name, I stated that there was cheating going on and the cheater needed confess and lose for the week. I personally think there should be some other type of punishment. What should an appropriate punishment be? After all, this isn't about money, just fair play. I know his excuse will be: oh, I was just playing around...making me look like I take this too seriously. But if say nothing, I know he won't change it.
What say you? Put yourself in my shoes, how would you react? TIA.
EDIT: he still has Wynn and Lee playing tonight, and I have Tony Scheffler. With a chance of losing, I hope Yahoo allows changes to be made after the games are done.
