This is a serious post -- I am not bragging about how well I did in my league with my 4-year-old and my dog...
My team is pretty loaded... No uber-studs like LJ, LT, or Peyton, but I have the 5th and 6th best QBs, the 7th, 9th, and 22nd best RBs, and the 4th, 12th, 13th, 17th, and 28th best WRs from week 1 in a 12-team big-money league filled with sharks...
My problem is, whenever I have a decision to make for my 3rd WR spot or 2nd RB spot or 1st QB spot (I look at my QBs as kind of 1a and 1b), I ALWAYS seem to make the wrong decision
Is this all in my head?? Am I only remembering the wrong calls and not the times that I make a right choice?
Am I going about picking a starter the wrong way?? [i usually lean a certain way, based on my projections, and then look at SOS and make a call based on that]
Should I just rank the guys in order and then pick the guy at the bottom of my rankings? [Reverse psychology]
Should I try the AC forum every week -- let them pick for me? [Please don't pick this option
]
How do you make your tough lineup decisions?? Does it work out fairly well for you [make the right call > 50%]??
Last week, for example, I had a choice between Isaac Bruce, Michael Jenkins, Drew Bennett, Keyshawn Johnson, Joe Jurevicius for my WR3..
I went with Keyshawn because he was highest of the choices on my draft board and Steve Smith was out.. ANY of the other choices (except JJ) would've netted me more FPTS :(
I decided to start Rhodes at RB2 over Warrick Dunn (think I outthunk myself on this one) because I thought Carolina's run defense was a monster and I figured Rhodes would lose value later in the year -- so I thought, "If I don't start him now, when will I?"
I got burned there..
Problem at RB is, this week I really want to start Dunn (I don't want to get burned again), so of course, the Tampa defense will be pissed about the loss to the Ravens and play lights out against the Falcons and Rhodes will go off against the Oilers (err, Texans)...
This is not a WDIS thread..
I'm just looking for some sympathy/advice on how to make decisions when you have several good/close options (and not always make the WRONG decision)....
