Let me start by admitting I know very little about the Saints backfield, except that watching them, I don't believe you can force feed Bush up the middle. Is it possible that:

(a) they will continue to use Bush as they did previously, and depend on someone else to take over Deuce's role, with the same number of carries projected for Deuce?

(b) that someone else will be Stecker?

If you are educated on this subject, please respond. I apologize in advance if this has already been covered in another thread.

It's not a good move for week 4 !

Stecker is same kind of back Bush is, with less athletic talent. They do not have a bull in the backfield that will run in between the tackles.Your pick is nice for a backup to Bush, but he is not start worhy unless Bush also goes down.

Stecker's kind of a "meh" fantasy option for me. I don't think he's going to be Deuce's exact replacement -- he's similar to Bush in size and running style than he is to Deuce. Stecker will play, but Bush's role will definitely increase from what it was. It's not like the offense requires that a "Deuce type" be in the lineup at all times.

Impressive UDFA Pierre Thomas could also be a fly in Stecker owners' ointment. He may well siphon off some early-down carries from both Bush and Stecker. Bush will be the man at the goal line, though.

I have picked him up too. I still have to be convinced Bush can shoulder the load game after game. Stecker may not set the world on fire but I suspect he will get some goal line duty and plenty of touches besides.

what he does with them remains to be seen.

a decent bye cover/spot start.

:excited: The goal-line packages you saw against the Titans will be the rule.

Pierre Thomas was the choice I made.

Saints homers led me to believe that Stecker will likely retain his normal roll as Bushs back up and being a special teamer/returner.

Though Stecker would/could have some increase in touches. As will Bush.

Whereas they thought Thomas was a more capable back (then Steck) to play in Duece spot especially when it comes to size/strength.

I know coach Payton said after the game it was going to fall onto the shoulder of both Thomas and Stecker. Thomas wasnt active monday night.

Saints no doubt will sign another RB from some where since week 4 is a bye. Dillon? Ricky Williams? Way Saints going so far, not much can hurt them.
