It was during this dining portion that the four athletes in attendance took the stage. Victor Cruz, Ramses Barden, Joe Morris and Harry Carson. Now Harry was the personality on the mic and did most of the talking. He proceeded to introduce all the players and then went about eating. After the food was gone he then prompted a Q&A session.Today was awesome.
I personally knew both Harry Carson & Joe Morris. In a nutshell: Harry from my biz I owned & Joe from where I worked.I owned a large landscape biz & one of my best supervisors had needed a ride to work on a few of Saturdays. I had no problem picking him up (Washington Twp., NJ), low & behold 2 town homes away lived Harry & he was outside at 6:45 am washing his vehicles. I introduced myself & we spoke for quite a while. He invited me to a couple of his autograph sessions & then to a luncheon. He's quite a family man.Little Joe was amusing. I was the lead sales 'person' at the NY Sports Club in Mahwah, NJ when sitting at my office desk, Joe comes in sits in front of me & says, "I can work out for free here." (it wasn't a question). Everyday after that when he came to the gym (at least 3x a week) he would come into my office & we would talk. Coincidently, I was dating a girl that lived on the 3rd floor of a condo complex, walked down the hallway & walking out of her neighbors door was Joe, lol, dating her neighbor. Never forget the time we were playing hoops at the gym and I banged 4 3's in a row while he was guarding me. He told me it won't happen again, the next time the ball was passed to me, he smacked the ball & my hands so hard i could barely feel my hands for quite a while. I never scored again that game.BTW...working at that specific NYSC, I met & played hoops with most of the NY Giants, including LT... and may I say they do not like playing defense.Got a few more stories for another day.
