I Met Victor Cruz Today! (1 Viewer)

It was during this dining portion that the four athletes in attendance took the stage. Victor Cruz, Ramses Barden, Joe Morris and Harry Carson. Now Harry was the personality on the mic and did most of the talking. He proceeded to introduce all the players and then went about eating. After the food was gone he then prompted a Q&A session.Today was awesome.
I personally knew both Harry Carson & Joe Morris. In a nutshell: Harry from my biz I owned & Joe from where I worked.I owned a large landscape biz & one of my best supervisors had needed a ride to work on a few of Saturdays. I had no problem picking him up (Washington Twp., NJ), low & behold 2 town homes away lived Harry & he was outside at 6:45 am washing his vehicles. I introduced myself & we spoke for quite a while. He invited me to a couple of his autograph sessions & then to a luncheon. He's quite a family man.Little Joe was amusing. I was the lead sales 'person' at the NY Sports Club in Mahwah, NJ when sitting at my office desk, Joe comes in sits in front of me & says, "I can work out for free here." (it wasn't a question). Everyday after that when he came to the gym (at least 3x a week) he would come into my office & we would talk. Coincidently, I was dating a girl that lived on the 3rd floor of a condo complex, walked down the hallway & walking out of her neighbors door was Joe, lol, dating her neighbor. Never forget the time we were playing hoops at the gym and I banged 4 3's in a row while he was guarding me. He told me it won't happen again, the next time the ball was passed to me, he smacked the ball & my hands so hard i could barely feel my hands for quite a while. I never scored again that game.BTW...working at that specific NYSC, I met & played hoops with most of the NY Giants, including LT... and may I say they do not like playing defense.Got a few more stories for another day. (Jeff Hostetler on a bagel line before SB)
Excellent stories! Thank you for sharing. I can only dream of shooting hoops with these guys although I am terrible at basketball haha.

I still remember my wife and I meeting Larry Fitzgerald and having him laugh at us for fighting. That guy has to be the nicest Football player on the planet.

I really wanted to share what has to be a highlight of my life. That either shows I have a sad life or love football wayyyy too much :D
The former.
I'm only 24 the next closest thing would have been my wedding :lmao:
You are 24 and married?? Dude.
Married at 22. :)
With all due respect: did you knock her up, or were you in the military?

Neither. We met online and quickly started dating. Fell in love rather quickly and we both worked and had careers. Both needed a new place to live so we moved in together and well got married.

You guys are funny. Meeting a lil guy like Victor Cruz is the highlight of ones life, LOL. I am GOOD friends with many players, Hall of Famers and soon to be Hall of Famers, the world is not that big.

Good for you! Must be nice. We're not all so lucky and privileged :)

I'm a HUGE Giant hater (Eagles fan, hate hate HATE the Giants). That is a very cool story. Cruz sounds like a very humble person. I hope to see him have continued success (just not against the Birds). Glad you had a good time.

Wat :lmao:

We went to Super Bowl 39 (Eagles vs Patriots) and at the NFL Experience Fitz was signing autographs. We were next inline and when it was time to go up we didn't have anything for him to sign for us. We were arguing with each other about what we were going to get signed. Fitzgerald just laughed and said don't worry I have a picture here to sign for you. My wife still talks about how nice he was, I just keep telling her how good of a football player he is.

Victor seems like the most down to earth NFL player. Dude was undrafted, didnt get a reception until year two

I had a dream about Big Ben a few years ago. He borrowed some ketchup from me at Shoney's and didn't even say thank you, just stared blankly at me. Seemed like a real jerk.
