I went to bed. The last thing I heard on the scanner was an Omaha cop asking if they were allowed to use force to subdue the suspect. Someone responded that they were to stand down and not enter the building. They were sending a hostage negotiator. The next day, I checked the news and couldn't find anything, so I assumed it ended quickly and peacefully.

On an unrelated note. I was working in my garage today when a strange car pulled in the driveway. A middle aged woman got out of the car and asked if our house had been broke into recently? I told her no, but the house across the street was broke into a few months ago. She said there was a report of a house being broke into on the 7th or 8th of this month on the corner of X and Y. Again, I pointed to the house across the street and said that's the only one I knew of. She got back in the car and left. As if I was lying to her.

And for those following my need to move. We looked at a half a dozen open houses in the past couple weeks. I'm replacing the siding on the house over Memorial Day weekend in case we decide to put it on the market.
