I just spent an inordinante amount of time researching the rantings of a wannabe lunatic...Boomer Esiason!! First of all Boomer should consider some pads from another respectable sport known as hockey (for the knees) when praising the ever-over glorified Peyton Manning I am a huge N.E. fan (born and raised and loved them when we sucked) but let's face facts there are SOOOO many Qb"s worth talking about Besides Peyton. Jake Delhomme being the First and Roethlisberger right behind. Come on boomer boy let's talk about the would be's not the has beens or the would have beens in your case. You sit alongside a winning quarterback in the chair that you somehow managed to acquire (Dan Marino) Big friggin deal so you threw it to Collingsworth and he choked it!!!! Not surprisingly if you go to NFL .com you will see that BOmber(oops it's Boomer isn't it) actually praised the hell out of Mcnabb prior to last years Sb in which the Pats Handed Mcnabb a HEALTHY helping of N.E. CLAM FRIGGIN CHOWDER. I guess the Boom boy picks by who makes the best commercials because Brady's capitol one credit card commercials are less than captivating but nonetheless he finished the season with over 4000 yds passing and Peyton was where...3700Something!! Please Boomer it really isn't about T.V. it's about a sport called Football. The American version by the way that involves pads and passes...get off your knees and learn to be a real comentator and btw Jake Plummer wants to know :hot: what that is in your hair!!!

I'll wait for the English translation.

So you're saying Boomer should be talking about Brady? The same Tom Brady that gets no respect I suppose  -QG

nope the Thom Brady of my heyday is transmuting and reminding me that I am a fan of the game though fan of my home I must transgress. Those of you waiting for an English translation should consider other posts as my continued use of mult-syllabic words will continue. I think that Boomer should consider praising other QB's in the leauge that have actually made it as of TODAY. Peyton has once again found himself in a would have been category and I (sort of) respect that but ideally... this post has nothing to do with Brady OR Peyton but the amazing ability of a quarterback that managed only a great draft pick as a highlight in his career. Yeah I guess to some extent it is a comparison but I refuse to jump on you or Greg Gumble's "Patriots don't get any respect" criticizing band wagon! When the T.B. earns his stripes I personally laud them when he talks crap I don't applaud him! Please, though feel free to compare Brady to any other CURRENT or past QB...I suspect that you are not impressed for some reason and for the ranting fact I rant only on the Idea that some people get paid lots of money to rant and then when those of us that don't rant a little it garners a response from you...regarding...ranting!!! BRilliant!!

It's multi-syllabic, not "mult-syllabic".Also long run-on sentences do not necessarily connote cogent analysis on your part. The rambling nature of your post is difficult to read not because of your use of "mult-syllabic" (sic) words, it is because you're not clear and concise.I just thought that you undermined your premise that Boomer is not paying enough attention to QBs who are still in the playoffs by bringing up a QB who is out: Tom Brady. You have no love for Hasselbeck, I take it? :) The fact that you bring up Brady makes it appear that you have an axe to grind with Boomer through that prism and really don't care a whit about whether or not he speaks about other QBs.Anyhow, welcome to the board :) -QG(edited for grammar in the 2nd paragraph - replacing "and then bringing up" with "by bringing up"

This is wicked bad.

". . . the Thom Brady of my heyday is transmuting. . ."

So Tom Brady is transforming? Turning from a base metal into gold or silver?

LINK?

trans·mu·ta·tion (trnsmy-tshn, trnz-) KEY

NOUN:

The act or an instance of transmuting; transformation.

The state of being transmuted.

Physics Transformation of one element into another by one or a series of nuclear reactions.

The supposed conversion of base metals into gold or silver in alchemy.

When did grammar or age (by the way spike I am 35 and grew up right near you) or puntuationor "when you joined the club" have anything to do with your point in the process is my question? Only quiz guy whom (feel free to correct as I attempt adequacy {No! probably not a word}) Has made any football oriented point. Christ if I wanted to join a grammar and punctuation board I would have done so...Clearly my fanhood and association with a (formerly) dominant team has gleaned the only reasonable criticism that is available...No I am not a student of Hasslebeck or any other player of the NFC and I deeply apologize that my writing is consistently interrupted with the running of my business...the incessant phone ringing...my family in need of sensible attention and utimately my own verbal...grammar...and puntuation, inadequacies (feel free to blow open the doors of criticism.) Can anyone responding to this post truly post an argument that Boomer isn't a "Has Been" without exhausting energy on who appropriately spelled or mispelled...??

"puntuationor"?Here's a friendly tip - it's easier to communicate your thoughts if you know how to communicate your thoughts.

I like Boomer. I find myself agreeing with him fairly often, and I learn things from him. I thought he made a great point in an interview recently when he was complaining about a coaching mistake he saw when a team was trying to kill the clock. There was 2:50 or so left on the clock, and he said that the team ran the ball straight up the gut. The refs put the ball on the hashmark started the playclock at 2:46, and they had to run another play before the two minute warning. He said if they'd called a sweep, they would have gotten the ball to the outside, the refs would have had to get to the ball, run it back to the hashmarks, and the two minute warning would have expired before the playclock finished.

I'm not sure what your point is about him being a "Has Been", but the fact remains he is a former MVP of the NFL, and played in the league for 14 years...about 3-4 times longer than the average NFL career. As for what he does now, he does the pre-game show on CBS, does color commentary on MNF on Westwood One, writes articles for NFL.com, and most importantly spends an abundance of his time raising money for Cystic Fibrosis.. Sounds like he is still pretty wrapped up in what is going on in the league.

Is this where we post Boomer trivia? I never gave it much thought, but assumed his nockname was from school/football days.Turns out he got it before he was even born. He kicked a lot in his mom's stomach and his dad served in the military with a guy who'd been a punter and had the nickname Boomer. Anyway, just heard that a couple of days ago and thought I'd throw in a little human interest story between the bickering. :)

This is going well. What's the hangup with Boomer Esiason? He's a lefty you know... Seriously, the guy was a good QB and he's a good sportscaster. Who cares if he likes Peyton Manning, or "Thom" Brady? And Hasselbeck is a good QB, why don't you become more "familiar" with him and the other NFC QB's before spouting that a former QB in the league himself is a "has been".

it's more of rocko's shtick, but he hasn't been around lately.

I strenuously disagree with Nepatsdyasty. Brady's credit card commercials are actually not that bad."Why can't I be fraud monitoring?""You? Fraud monitoring? Ha." :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

i also like it when the lineman says "hi" to his date. :lmao:

although to be fair it is the linemen who are captivating, not brady.

It's not that you lack any idea of grammar in your posts. It's that it makes it hard to read, follow, or even understand any point that you are trying to make. As for the age, well that is simply because you make yourself sound like a whiny little 10 year old.

i lost all respect for boomer when he ran with that profootball.com garbage and talked all that trash on chad johnson only to turn around and do a complete uturn on cincinnati news a day later. he went from "it definatley happened" and calling chad a "knucklehead", to "i'll take chad's word on it" and calling chad a "great guy".what a douchenozzle. seriously.

I came to this thread hoping to get away from all the Manning threads, and BAM!! I be damned if this one isn't another f-ing Manning thread (indirectly). I'll excuse myself now. Geez.
