I am considering introducing IDP to my league. Is it common to use IDP and Team Defense too or just IDP?

Using one or the other is more common, but it's your league, do what you want.

I would prefer one-or-the-other so you're not double-counting points within the league.. It would be annoying to get 6 points for a T.Suggs fumble recovery touchdown only to have your opponent with Baltimore defense get those points too.

I do the same thing in my league with return yards and TDs - if individual players like Percy Harvin get return points I disable those points for defense/special teams.

I would recommend dumping team defenses. Also, I wouldn't tiptoe in - IDP isn't fun if you only start 2 guys. Go for a minimum of 6 - 2 DL, 2 LB, 2 DB.
