IDP newbie, how did my IDP draft work out? (1 Viewer)

I'm not really sure how well my IDP players turned out. There are so few resources for IDP and I don't pretend to know every D player in the league.

So here's who I took in the corresponding rounds:

8. T. Polamalu DB

10. B. Sanders DB

15. J. Peppers DL

16. R. Lewis DL

20. C. Harris DB

21. G. Wilson DB

I have to start 2DL, 2DB and 2 more of either DB or DL. OK or does it need alot of work? The first 4 I took probowlers but are they actually good Fantasy players? I think I may drop Lewis, his no. of tackles for last season was under 50.

See if you could use Lewis as trade bait for a few days and see if you can upgrade that way based on his name value. After that you could probably find someone worthwile on the waiver wire. Keep an eye out for a DB on the waiver wire too, Harris is only SS until Brown comes back, and if Brown stays healthy Harris only gets decent numbers if he doesnt lose FS to D. Manning. You might actually be able to sell Harris and Lewis for a better LB. You should get at least another LB, you can start up to 4 dl. I usually go with 3 of each in this format, but you should if nothing else have a backup DL, preferably 3 down WSL. Polamalu and Wilson are excellent. Safe bets to score I think. Sanders is probably expendable in some trade situation. Hold on to Peppers too.

Yup, dropped Harris and Sanders and picked up Lofa and Bulluck who were both free.

Not a very deep league is it? But Great pickups.

No, I'm playing with amateurs. And I'll only do well in the league as I'm prepared to do a little research, get on boards like this and speak to pros like you.

You should see my offensive players. I have LT, S. Jax, McGahee (who I picked up in the 9th round), Taylor and Maroney at RB!!

We were using Yahoo as the drafting engine which has the weirdest rankings for Defensive players. M. Vrabel is listed as #1, #2 T. McGee, #3 C. Johnson, #4 P. Jones etc. So most people not knowing much about IDP just picked from the top of that list. Knowing that that list was complete BS I picked players that I knew were ok. Pomalalu, Peppers, Wilson etc. It wasn't until I came on here that I saw who was the highest ranked D players. Then quickly snapped them all up for anyone else figured it out.

Hopefully that league stays together and doesn't have half the teams fold up by midseason. Things look pretty promising for your team right now.

If you find that the IDP bug has really bitten you, you might want to get on the waiting list for some more competitive leagues. You could PM Tick for information about the Zealots group of IDP dynasty leagues he and others are in. And I think Chaos Commish is involved in a tiered group of pretty competitive IDP redraft leagues.

Hopefully neither mind if I fill their PM boxes up with newbie requests.

It's a little early for recruiting, but that's also my least favorite part of my favorite online league. But Kerpow, you simply cannot build a defense like that in my league. Enjoy the season.
