just saw it as an opportunity to mirror what is done for the offensive side and as a resource for those that visit the IDP Forum

we did it 2 years ago, but only a couple people participated in the threads here so it lost momentum quickly.

now that the IDP forum has become a lot more active, we'll be bringing it back this year.

its just something that i think would be very interesting. Being able to see other peoples perspectives etc...i would definately participate and from the looks of the IDP forum now I am sure it will be a much bigger hit

Dallas 3-4 in general - who playing where. Assuming that Carpenter and Ware on the outside - who wil be the ILBs Ayodele and Bradie James? or who?

New Orleans Saints - linebacking corp - who will end up being the starters?

I think it would be very helpful to spotlight a full unit at warranted times. Like Titan linebackers or Redskin safeties or other situations with new faces that could affect the production of each individual player in a significant way.

As of now, the players in the mix for SLB are Anthony Simmons and James Allen.The trade of Watson to Miami pretty much cements Colby Bockwoldt as the MLB (unless Al Fincher totally goes off in camp and proves he is healthy) IMO. WLB seems to be Scott Fujita as of now. Suprising to all they did not draft any LB's this year. HTH.

I wouldn't assume anything at this point.While the Cowboys will almost certainly scrap the Jack LB schemes they used to protect Dat Nguyen last year, they may not align in a perfectly balanced 3-4. In other words, many teams, particularly the Belichick 3-4 hybrids, align as OLB/MLB/WLB/OLB. This is especially true when at least one OLB are rush LBs and not well rounded run/coverage guys.

So...the LILB is not always the higher scoring position. Donnie Edwards does just fine as the LILB in San Diego and Andra Davis is technically a MLB in the Browns' 3-4 despite playing on the left side of the alignment.

Bradie James was successful down the stretch as the LILB (MLB) last season. I don't think I'd expect things to be different unless we clearly hear that the Cowboys are playing a balanced 3-4 up the middle. My guess is, with the one dimensional Ware on the outside, they will be unbalanced.

I didn't hear the Sirius comment though, so, take the above as my speculation only, as always.

I've yet to hear how the staff feels about Fincher, but I think booting Watson without drafting a backer is more than a subtle vote of confidence for him. On the other hand, he couldn't leapfrog Ronald McKinnon on the depth chart or get any significant garbage time play last season.

LB's in particular should probably always be discussed as a group given how much their role with schemes dictates their IDP productivity.
