If Kevin Smith is waiver target #1 then who is #2? (1 Viewer)

Here is my present waiver order:

1. Kevin Smith,

2. Torrey Smith

3. Percy Harvin

4. Nate Bureleson

5. Nate Washington,

6. Jacoby Ford

7. Shonne Green

8. Mark Ingram

9. Santana Moss

10. Donald Brown,

11.Marion Barber III

12. Jerome Simpson

13.Damien Williams

14.Chris Ogbannaya/ if Hardesty is out

15. Vincent Brown,

16.Jacoby Jones

17. Lance Ball

18. Roy Helu

19. Ryan Grant,

20. Robert Meachum

21. Toby Gerhart,

22.Harry Douglas,

23. Joe McKnight

24. Titus Young

25. Cj Spiller

26. Jahvid Best,

27. Johnny White

28. Shane Vereen

29. Riley Cooper

30. James Jones

Agree with the ranking/ order? Disagree? Who else you got and where would they rank in order?

Jerome SimpsonShane Vereenwait a sec, there's a thread for this....
Does that thread rank them? Its one thing to know who you are looking for but another thing to know the order in which you would add the player. I see this thread as different than Waiver week 12 thread, Just assume that you have equal needs at Wr and RB. Which order would you add them? Obviously Smith is #1, after that maybe a WR, maybe a RB. That is what I am trying to get to in this thread.

The premise of this thread is that if you can't get K. Smith you need to rank the next man in line. But it goes off track by ranking all the skill positions. Are you going to throw in must add defenses, QB's and TE's?

Too broad a question. It would be much fairer to compare Smith to other waiver wire RB's, and only RB's.

Right now, (and I am desperate for an RB as an FJAX owner) Smith is already gone, I have the following to choose from:

Ryan Grant (recently dropped)

C.J. Spiller

Johnny White

Shane Vereen

trouble I have is that I am dead broke on my FAAB. So I have to wait and pray that somebody falls to me.

how about Burleson, if he were dropped?
He's second on my list behind Smith. Dropping Vincent Brown. If Floyd returns to practice on Wednesday I'll likely put Donald Brown on the list third behind Smith and Burleson. Gerhart's available but I have no interest in him. I've never been impressed with him and I don't need a RB3 with minimal upside.

I would swtich Nate Washington first and bring Gerhart way down. Peterson looks like he's playing.
And ATL is not such a great matchup. Plus Harvin getting carries.Simpson as a fill-in for Green while out looks terrific too.

1. Kevin Smith,

2. Jerome Simpson (if Green is out he is another M Bush / L Robinson fill-in)

3. Nate Washington,

4. Santana Moss,

5. Nate Bureleson

5b Consider: Titus Young

6. Lance Ball (SD, nice matchup)

7. Toby Gerhart, (depends on need)

8. Donald Brown, (depends on need)

9. Jacoby Ford (you can wait another week maybe, but he could be great weeks 14-16))

10. Mark Ingram (hmmmm....)

11. Ryan Grant, (Starks may play)

12. Vincent Brown,

Sleeper: Charles Clay (TE in CBS, RB in yahoo, the phins played him at h-back and he had a very nice game)

No thanks, Pass:

8. Marion Barber III

11. Cj Spiller

13. Jahvid Best,

14.Harry Douglas,

15. Joe McKnight

17. Johnny White

18. Shane Vereen

I think Marion Barber may deserve an upgrade with cutler out. 10 carries and goal line work, you could do worse.

He's worth more in dynasty, but Riley Cooper could end of having a lot of re-draft value depending of the health of Maclin. If Djax or Maclin happen to miss time, I think he did more than enough to now be the third guy.

I know these guys aren't available in all leagues right now and it really just depends on what you need... but here's what I'm going after in my 12-team .5 ppr right now.

WR

1- J. Simpson

2- R. Meachem (nice playoff schedule)

3- J. Jones

RB

1- Gerhart

2- Addai/Brown

3- Barber

Interesting, I have both the bolded available. I'd rank Jones ahead of Meachem. If you look at Meachem's game logs, he's had a string of awful games and the last game before the bye, he caught a TD. But too many targets ahead of him in NO to depend on him. I think Jones could emerge with a healthy AJ across from him drawing the coverage.

Alright, I'll play here since no one wants to take my thread seriously.

Chris Ogbannaya - presuming dynasty. (i.e. his chances vs. Kevin Smith to be a post 2011 starter on their team?)

If Santana Moss is available I'd arguably put him No. 1 on the list - especially in PPR leagues. No worse than No. 2 behind Smith. The Redskins' offense may stink but Moss is their No. 1 WR and he'll see plenty of targets when he returns.

I dont think he is the future of the Browns and I think he is still 3rd on the depth chart behind Hardesty and Hillis for this year. This limits his value and he is a Brown. I'll rank him accordingly

I'd move Gehart up over Spiller at least, FJax sounds much more likely to play then AP and I'd move Ryan Grant down to just in front of him. Most likely he is a mediocre 1 week play.

Sorry, should have been more clear there. James, not Jacoby... he's already taken.

What are you talking about? AJ is a Texan or Bengal, James Jones is a Packer!

Why is McKnight a pass? LT is still out, Green can't catch the ball and McKnight got over 100 yds total rush/rec in a limited role last week.

Don't sleep on Toby Gerhart. He gets a touch matchup at ATL this week but an easy game against DEN the following week.

ADP is probably out for two weeks.

Other than Kevin Smith, I don't think there is a waiver wire RB worth picking up besides Gerhart. I doubt Ingram is available in most leagues. Heck most ADP owners already have Gerhart rostered.

Ingram is actually available in mine having recently been dropped--we've got only 10 teams so there's generally a good waiver wire selection. Speaking of which--you could add Percy Harvin to your list if he's out there in others as he is in my league.

Harvin owner had dropped him a week or so ago.I just picked him up.With Ponder getting more comfortable plus AP dinged up and Percy getting some carries. Love him going forward as a backup or fill in at flex if I need it.

Ok, I did that thinking LT could be back next week. However, maybe not...https://twitter.com/#!/JennyVrentas/statuses/139061394678104064

Same could be said for Gerhart I guess so good point.

I agree on Mcknight. He is a stash on my bench at the moment.

Kind of like Vereen, especially in dynasty. IIRC, isn't BJGE a free agent after this year? Maybe BB uses him alot more towards the end of the season to see if he should let BJGE walk.

For this week (after Kevin Smith) you have to seriously consider Donald Brown as a top choice. He was playing well before their bye and now gets the Carolina run D.

I've also picked up Vereen for a bench stash just in case. NE's schedule is weak the rest of the year and you never know. Talent meets opportunity?

I'd bump up Hardesty into the top 5 based on this blurb from Rotoworld

Montario Hardesty will start Sunday if active Coach Pat Shurmur said Montario Hardesty (calf) will start Sunday's game against the Bengals if he can play.Hardesty will practice in some capacity Wednesday. It's interesting that Shurmur is handing the starting job to Hardesty even though Chris Ogbonnaya has piled up 205 yards on a 5.1 yard-per-carry average over the last two weeks. Shurmur did say that Ogbonnaya, a more natural third-down back, will play regardless.

I was thinking this too, but now reports say Addai is practicing in full. Could be RBBC.

would you put CJ Spiller in front of Kevin Smith now? Smith might be sharing carries with Best when he gets back, CJ Spiller MIGHT be the workhorse for rest of season. Smith looked great but against Car.
