If Liriano Sent Down (1 Viewer)

Mr. Know-It-All

5x5, nonkeeper

Stacked at RP, really need a solid SP.

Here are the most appealing choices -

Gavin Floyd

John Danks

Todd Wellemeyer

Kyle Lohse

Greg Smith

Mark Hendrickson

Scott Olsen

I am leaning towards Floyd despite being a huge Cardinals fan - I think Wellemeyer may lose a spot to Mulder or Carpenter assuming either or both make it back and Lohse is..well...Lohse..

Olsen is the only one I'd consider dropping Liriano for. An empty roster spot would do you better than any of those guys. The hot starters will regress, the question being when. I believe Danks is the only one of them capable of keeping it up, but wouldn't be betting too heavily on it even if I was high on him.

You are thinking the same thing as I am thinking. Except I also think that Floyd has potential breakout value. Both of those guys have been future stars for awhile now, but neither materialized.I do have two other options - Westbrook and Pedro were both released when they went to DL, so I could consider one of them. The problem in this league - it is a 19 teamer, is that the only moves you can make are DL moves...no trading and no free agent pickups (except for injury or guys sent to the minors. If I stash Liriano, I fall way behind in Ks and Wins...if I don't dump him when I get the chance (again it is a non-keeper league) I get pounded in ERA and WHIP as he tries to rediscover how to pitch post-Tommy John surgery.I am kicking myself for purchasing Willis and Liriano at the auction (even at reduced prices). I have shed Willis thanks to D, now I am hoping to let someone else take a chance on Liriano regaining his form.

Is he really worth keeping hold of in any format unless you have a deep roster and an open spot? I have Bedard coming off of the DL and don't really have anyone on my staff I can let go with Wainright, Greinke, and Cueto being my other SP's right now. Only other person I could drop would be a hitter with a hot bat and I have Michael Cuddyer coming off the DL as well and might have to make another cut somehow.
