Aikman wasn't handed a ferrari like Brady was, he was given a Ford Pinto and had to run for his life..
I chuckled at this part. Who exactly did Brady have to work with offensively pre-2007 that came close to be considered a Ferrari?
Being "handed a Ferrari" isn't limited only to offensive players. It also includes the coaching staff, defense, and special teams.

Here is an interesting thought:

Certain people always bring up Peyton's pick 6 at the end of the Indy/NO Super Bowl as an example of him choking in a big moment, ignoring the fact that Reggie Wayne pulled up short on the pattern and let Tracy Porter pick it off and return it all the way. But since Peyton threw the ball, it is considered his fault, and thus his choke job.

So, can we now say the same thing about Brady's poor throw to Welker in the clutch yesterday? Sure, Welker could have caught it (and it would have been a phenomenal catch), but if Brady hits him in stride, it is likely a touchdown and a 24-15 lead with four minutes to play. But Brady choked and missed a wide open receiver on a play that could have gone a long way toward clinching a Super Bowl win in a game they ultimately lost.

Fair to say?

Yes. Not only that, but he had a handful of other plays where he failed. Not to mention his first play from scrimmage that went as poorly as possible, which affects every play afterwards.

I think a fairer thing to say is that we should judge players, both Peyton and Brady, on their collective play over the course of their career, and stop acting like a single play in a single game sheds some sort of light on their play that the thousands of passes they threw before didn't.To me, Brady is exactly the same QB I thought he was going in to the game. If he and Welker and had connected on that pass, I'd feel the exact same as I do now about how good of a QB Brady is. The only thing that would have changed would be his career would have had more success, but his abilities as a player haven't changed one iota.

Not according to Gisele, it was all Welker's fault.

so if Brady was to be the greatest of all time, now that he isnt, is Eli? He has beat Brady twice in the superbowl!

Nah, it wasn't a choke. He just didn't do anything special to win the game, like Eli did with his Manningham throw. Which is why I still take Montana over him. Brady doesn't have the memorable throws, doesn't have the dramatic, game-winning TD passes.

I just looked this up and Brady had a total of two 2nd half TD's (one in the 3rd and one in the 4th) in his three SB wins - both to Vrabel (1 and 2 yards) and neither were game-winning.

I don't care about what anyone in this thread says. If I had a choice of either Montana, Brady or any other QB in their prime to play for my team I would take Montana any day of the week and 6 times on Sunday. The man was amazing.
