OK. No laughing or ridiculing is allowed.
If you are in a pinch for a TE, you might want to look at Todd Heap. Here's why.
1. There is a good bet he will be active this week for the first time since week 2.
2. In Game 2 this year he was tarted 9 times and caught 5 for 62. This was the game he was hurt and didn't play the fourth quarter.
3. He's been out since week 2, and the coaches have been getting on him about being hurt and not playing. They want him back in the lineup, even though Housler is the future and is playing well.
4. Lindley will be making his first start. In the Atlanta game he was bad, really bad. But he did throw a couple of nice deep balls that were almost complete. We really have no idea if Lindley will like throwing to the TE, but it make sense that a veteran presence at the position might be good for him.
Let me be clear. This is a long shot. Heap may not even see the field. But he is healthy and he fully practiced this week. He may not get much this week, but it's possible he could be used down the stretch. He's a guy that might get you 50-70 yards and a TD when you need it most.
He may be worth a flyer if you are struggling at the TE spot like I am in a few leagues.
